If you want to look through those threads for any new information you can, I didn't see anything though. You can see from the first link how much EXP the maker quests give, they're quite easy and very worth while.

Thanks a lot for the links. As it turns out, these are the rates for crystal appraisal:

Diamond, sapphire, garnet, opal, amethyst, aquamarine, topaz, emerald
Low-grade: 70%
Mid-grade: 25%
High-grade: 5%

Power/wisdom/luk/dex crystals
Low-grade: 75%
Mid-grade: 24%
High-grade: 1% (lol)

Black/dark crystals
Low-grade: 67.5%
Mid-grade: 30%
High-grade: 2.5%

A bit of a disappointment. It looks like high-grade stat crystals will be around 50-100mil+ each once inflation really sets in on these crystals.

This is some more interesting info gleaned from those sources with google translate and my limited knowledge of Chinese:
- With the appropriate level of Maker, you can only create equipment of your own class and of up to five levels above that of your character
- Black/dark crystals having the possibly to subtract stats is confirmed
- The quest for level 1 Maker doesn't require any items
- Level 2 Maker requires a mid-grade monster crystal C
- Level 3 Maker requires 6 gold plates, 2 steel plates, and 1 refined lidium
- Level 110 armor requires 5 dragon spirits and scales each, level 110 weapons require 20 dragon spirits and scales
- Level 120 reversal armor requires 15 time fragments, reversal weapons require 45 time fragments
- Level 120 timeless armor requires 1 time stone, timeless weapons require 3 time stones (the teardrop-looking things)

Time stones must come from a source other than pink bean then because several people in pink bean videos hold timeless weapons. I'm pretty sure none of the time temple monsters or horntail would drop timeless equipment. Time temple monsters probably drop time fragments, though that would be kind of redundant to have time stones be forged from time fragments or to have time stones also drop from time temple monsters. Maybe the stones only drop from the bosses in time temple.

time stones only come from pink bean. the weapons you're seeing must be reverse; they look exactly the same, but timeless has two extra base attack.

Maker - Alchemy Skill FAQ and Walkthrough - Cyanne - 2009-02-09

Oh, I didn't realize they looked the same, never mind that then. =/

i'm hoping you're wrong about the prices, people like me won't be able to afford such things xD

Cyanne, from what I heard

Every monster in the Time Temple drops those Time Fragments which then are refined into Time Stones.

Yes..all monsters in TT drop time frags but I'm not so sure about the refining part.

Maker - Alchemy Skill FAQ and Walkthrough - blitzkrieg - 2009-02-09

I've never heard of them being refined from fragments, although that would make sense. all that I've heard from everyone I've asked on kMS though is that they only drop from pink bean. combine that with the fact that I've NEVER seen a timeless weapon (only reverse), and it leads me to believe that it's currently impossible to get all the ingredients to make one.

Maker - Alchemy Skill FAQ and Walkthrough - Chameleonic - 2009-02-09

Whats the difference between the Reverse and Timeless weapons/equips?

timeless has two more base weapon attack.

Dang... there goes the thought that my 150 refined dex crystals would be enough to get me 4+ High grades...

My past 8 months of investment may end in failure.

Maker - Alchemy Skill FAQ and Walkthrough - blitzkrieg - 2009-02-09

keep in mind that you can use 10 low-grade to create a mid-grade and 10 mid-grade to create a high-grade.

That's news to me :f6:. Thanks for that though, it is encouraging Biggrin.

So wait then, if this is true, and the prices for high grade settle around either 50 or 100 mil, then wouldn't mid grade respectively be 5-10 mil and low 500k - 1mil? Would it be right to then assume that a clean refined crystal would be around 1.3 mil? All conjecture of course.

well, those are almost the exact prices on kMS right now lol.

Maker - Alchemy Skill FAQ and Walkthrough - Stereo - 2009-02-09

blitzkrieg Wrote:keep in mind that you can use 10 low-grade to create a mid-grade and 10 mid-grade to create a high-grade.

So in 100 Crystals...
75->Low = 7 Mid
7+ 24->Mid = 3 High
3+ 1->High = 4 High

~25 Crystal per High Grade = ~12mil at current Dex Crystal prices, 6-8mil for the othersEek And you say that'll quadruple or better? Sounds like a good investment.

Maker - Alchemy Skill FAQ and Walkthrough - Cyanne - 2009-02-09

Yeah, but don't forget that appraisal costs 100k per crystal, and if I remember correctly, 10 low -> 1 mid requires around 400k, and 10 mid -> 1 high requires around 800k.

Maker - Alchemy Skill FAQ and Walkthrough - Stereo - 2009-02-09

100x appraisal = 10mil + 7 mid = 2.8mil + 3 high = 2.4 mil
Total is only an extra ~4mil per high crystal.

On the other hand, 10 mid for 1 high is only 2 extra stats. Probably better to make 10x the items and 30% them instead, at least for overalls and other equips that get +5 30% stats and +2 60%.

Maker - Alchemy Skill FAQ and Walkthrough - IllegallySane - 2009-02-10

This is rather intriguing stuff.

For me Pirate, there are only 2 slots that I can afford to make gemmable equipment: my overalls, and weapon. Mad

But then I can fit in gems to skyrocket it's value:

For weapon: 1 mid grade Diamond (+2 WA), a high grade DEX crystal (+5 DEX), a high grade Opal (+5 avoid)
For overall: A high grade DEX crystal (+5 DEX), a high grade Opal (+5 avoid), and a high grade Power Crystal (+5 STR).

However, now that I think about it, this is probably going to empower the normal-Stat builds because compared to say me, they can get an extra 9 gems (5 pieces of equipment one Pirate can create that's gemmable).

Of course, let's not forget what sort of madness this will do for Warriors:

1. Hat
2. Top
3. Bottom
4. Weapon
5. Shield
6. Gloves
7. Shoes

7 slots x 3 = 21 gems Redface

All in all, I'd love to see this come to gMS. Give people an excuse to put their gems to good use rather than let it rot.

A couple questions Issac:
1. Just to confirm, is it possible to take 10 lower grade gems to make a higher grade?
2. So the player themselves do not know what grade a gem is until it gets appraised for a sum of 100k? Eek

Again, this will be rather something. It promises the ultimate form of tweaking your character. Although I'm a little sad my potential idea of making gemmable equipment to socket with +5 INT gems that can also be scrolled for INT for the ability to HP wash can't take off since common equipment can't be made, nor can the blasted Wooden wand be made.

Maker - Alchemy Skill FAQ and Walkthrough - IsaacGS - 2009-02-10

1. Never had 10 graded jewels so I haven't tried it in game, but it's been stated in too many places to be wrong.
2. yes. It takes your 100k then tells you what grade you got at the same time.

Well, you could make a class overall and add in 5 INT to that overall in addition to a dark crystal (hoping for some bonus INT) and then scroll that for INT. It would be pointless to use other then for HP washing, but it could be done. :X

If I want to mass forge Concertos when this comes out, would it be worth my while to stock up on Butter-Toasted Squid, or some other 9x monster etc drop, or is collecting monster etc pieces a waste of time? I'm seriously considering training my Outlaw on Squids from 104-mid 11x to collect a good 50k or so pieces if it'll help me create a dozen or more Concertos.

Though 50k is quite a lot. On that note, is mass forging an option at all, since it requires so many pieces?
