Alilatias Wrote:On a side note, if they ever do a Priest update in kDN, the only thing I want is for them to extend buff duration to something like 90-120 seconds. It is annoying having to find an opening during a major boss fight to recast the buffs every minute, especially with the other party members having to run everywhere else because the boss suddenly decides it wants to target me when the buffs are almost out.

That's what skill crests are for Tongue1

But yeah, I know exactly what you mean. It wouldn't be as big of an issue if we weren't so slow though, IMO. :/

Hit 40 yesterday; did the two new nests on normal. Manticore is pretty easy, but that damn apocalypse boss...~_~

Original Dragon Nest Thread - Alilatias - 2011-12-22

Or they could double the buff range instead of increasing the buff timer. I'd be pretty happy with that too.

---

I ran Apocalypse for the first time ever.

Never soloing it at the current cap, even on normal. It's bad enough that you can barely see if you're actually inflicting any damage at all if you're within melee range thanks to Apocalypse's massive size. Priests have next to no offense against him due to his ridicluous light resist on top of that. Getting a darkness weapon only changes our basic attack too.

On another note, I met this Paladin that actually knew how to lure and tank. Really, really eager to fight Sea Dragon, that one. There's some hope for NA DN yet.

*crying in a corner*

Also, as if apologizing for the travesty of the last bunny, I decide to run only 1 dungeon today out of boredom and get a Golden Bunny and get a Superb Arrow Barrage Plate from it this time.

Original Dragon Nest Thread - DrRusty - 2011-12-23

well i'm glad the gold bunnies work for you... earthadept will tell you what happened with the gold bunny we found running dungeons Rolleyes

*walks into PvP*
*gets slaughtered by warriors and elementalists*

Pretty much sums up my whole day, hahaha. Ironically that Rising Attack skill is proving more useful in PvE than PvP because no one in PvP lets me use it. >_>

Original Dragon Nest Thread - DrRusty - 2011-12-23

I have no sympathy for priests and paladins Rolleyes

Original Dragon Nest Thread - Alilatias - 2011-12-23

I can understand Paladins, but us poor Priests? D:

>_>

I feel very sorry for Mystics though. I've won every fight against a Mystic so far, but that's not saying much when literally every skill they have has a hugearse delay. That whole blacklisting Summon Comet thing mentioned a few weeks ago in the thread is just hilarious after seeing this.

EDIT:

V - Implying a Priest's basic attack is worth anything in PvP

(All of the Priest's offensive skills already have instant paralyze built into them, except for Lightning Relic for obvious reasons. To counter this, just about every non-ultimate Priest skill has a small wind-up period with almost no superarmor save for Righteous Bolt, Grand Cross, and Holy Burst.)

Original Dragon Nest Thread - DrRusty - 2011-12-24

protip - stack paralyze

Original Dragon Nest Thread - EarthAdept2 - 2011-12-24

Where does a priest get 100% paralyze >:

My detonate never works well for some reason :|

Original Dragon Nest Thread - Alilatias - 2011-12-24

Weird, because every time I successfuly use Detonate, it usually paralyzes the enemy. In PvE, it instead stuns or instantly breaks superarmor on everything but superbosses.

'Successfully' being that they don't tumble (therefore gaining invincibility frames) or use a skill with extremely high superarmor built in (that one merc chargeup attack comes to mind) right when I use it.

Original Dragon Nest Thread - EarthAdept2 - 2011-12-24

Wait nvm i keep thinking paralyze is electrocute

Original Dragon Nest Thread - DrRusty - 2011-12-24

paralyze is flinch. You stack paralyze and spam lightning relic on CD on top of yourself, then just keep healing. You pretty much can't lose.

Original Dragon Nest Thread - Rick - 2011-12-24

What b'itch, I just got to level 34 and no more story until level 40? This is annoying.

Original Dragon Nest Thread - 案山子 - 2011-12-24

Rick Wrote:What b'itch, I just got to level 34 and no more story until level 40? This is annoying.

The story past Lv24 cap is almost nonexistent. At the Lv32 cap I finished the story quests before even reaching Lv25 on my first character. Dragon Nest's real story comes from the side quests in my opinion.

Original Dragon Nest Thread - EarthAdept2 - 2011-12-24

If they made it so side quests affected the other quests. That'd be so amazing. It makes no sense for my alts to be in saint haven since they didn't even meet vekslud yet or fixed the airship yet LOL.

Original Dragon Nest Thread - Tikey - 2011-12-24

Can't wait to hit level 40. My range is gonna go up by like 600-700 points. x3

Also Velskud is empty. Sad

Original Dragon Nest Thread - Alilatias - 2011-12-24

Yeah, Velskud PvP only has like 1 or 2 pages of listings at any time of the day, and party listings anywhere rarely go past three pages. It's kind of depressing after how active it was back during open beta.

And here I thought Velskud was going to be the Scania of DN, when it looks like that Hat Trick event is funneling the vast majority of the potential new players into Elena instead.

Original Dragon Nest Thread - DrRusty - 2011-12-24

no one on gerrant is selling the stuff I want =(. I'm trying to upgrade my cerb jewlery, but I can't find decent stuff. I don't want to buy a small upgrade only to see a better one for the same price a few days later. I tried to spark my own necklace, and it was an upgrade for me, but I'm just going to sell it instead.

i have a question! /raisehand
I sparked an epic lvl40 flail because why not, and I got 5.8% magic/4.5% strength/4.5% intellect. Is that good or bad?

Original Dragon Nest Thread - Alilatias - 2011-12-24

Unfortunately I know jack squat about the differences between mace and flail usage for Paladins other than their basic attack. I don't even know which weapon is used for which 3rd specialization (if Paladin 3rd specialization skills even have weapon type restrictions).

I would think flails are for the more physical focused Paladins though. Although from what I've seen, mace/magic Paladins are far more popular. Although most of said Paladins are the ones that like to faceroll everyone and everything into the wall in PvP including their poor Priest brethrens.

(Come to think of it, is there even a dedicated Paladin user here at SP?)

EDIT: Okay, Paladin 3rd specialization skills don't have weapon restrictions. The difference between both specializations is essentially magic DPS and tanking/counterattacking. I'm actually surprised at the really low number of Paladin skills that actually use the physical attack stat, as most of their offensive skills seem to either be magic only or use both physical and magic damage. So maybe there's hope for your flail yet, unless flail Paladins are extremely rare in Gerrant.
