Units receive from the quests are good to level up your character's brave bursts. I wouldn't do this until you get the units into their highest star form.
Ex: if you have selena as your starter... the moment you get her to her 6* form (holy ice selena)... you do not level her up using metal parade units. Instead fuse her with a bunch of low level units from the quests. Specifically units that have a brave burst that deals damage. This way, each time you fuse a unit to her... her Brave Burst (BB) has a chance of leveling up. It'll take a while.... but once her brave burst hits level 10... you'll unlock her super brave burst.
If you level up a unit first using metal parade monsters and THEN try to fuse quest units to her for BB levels.... each fusion will cost more.
Cost to fuse units is (base unit's level+ sum of fusing units levels)*100
ex: level 35 selena fused with 2 level 5 units will cost a total of (35+5+5)*100 = 4500 zel. This cost seems small but adds up quickly when trying to level up brave bursts.

I stop fusing crap quest fodder to my units around 25 as well.
You need a LOT of zel in this game. Saving everywhere you can is ideal.

max fusion cost is about the same as around level 25 or so which is why I say fuse up to there then max if you go beyond.
Don't remember which patch it was or when they did it, but it was a while back.

oh nice. I've been holding off on maxing units due to the huge cost of leveling BB at higher levels.... good to know its actually cheap at max level :O

Vortex dungeon. Metal parade dungeon is locked there. You'll need keys. You get keys every couple of days from the institute.

Eh, is floor 1-10 Xenon any tougher than 11-20? I ask because I got slaughtered the first time I encountered him (didn't guard his aoe), and if he does get even slightly tougher I doubt I'll be able to take him on without reviving. I am getting this mofo tho, one way or another. >_>

Yes, he gets tougher when you move up.
Although, I need to capture this dude soon....there's too many floors and not enough energy. Not to mention that he's RANDOM. Will cause me a few headaches no doubt.

Notes for people doing the tower:
I happened to not run into him at all on floor 11-20 (good source of green drops here)
21-30: 41 buru nuts (green ones) among other green and blue stuffs... xenon lvl 3 65k hp (pretty sure i saw poison ticks do 6300 or 6500)
31-40: inflicted weakness on xenon lvl 4 (as the stage 5/10 boss)... so that's a thing. (I <3 ducky waifu)
Legtos was my stage 10 boss accompanied by 2 scylla
Materials ranged much more this time. Getting few green items, mostly blues and reds.
41-50: 30 hoku nuts (blue ones) no xenon sadly.
51-60: not much to say... did fight his 4* here for the first time though
61-70: boss in stage 10 was sylph+ 2 royal dancer may
items: 15 blue grass 31 hoku nut (blue) 10 koka nut (red) are the only noteworthy ones (if that)
Note that I dont bother single targetting for more items nor do i use thief gloves. So both of those can help boost drops further

Got him on my second run (11-20)! I actually encountered him twice in the same run. First time I managed to survive by spamming pots and captured him. Second time he annihilated me. I used a gem because I don't what happens to all the stuff you get through the dungeon if you get wiped out and didn't want to risk it.
PS: Is anima a good type for him?
edit: holy pomegranate those base stats. I guess I'm going rainbow then. *kicks Weiss out of team*

Anima is a great type for... pretty much everything.
If you lose in a dungeon you lose everything you found in that dungeon. So basically, you waste energy and got nothing. But if you use a gem you can continue without losing anything.... the main thing though.... is using that gem worth it? You could just use that gem to refill your entire energy gauge... but maybe you found something great in the dungeon.... so you'll have to decide if its worth it.

OHKO Xenon on Lv 5 (41-50) with my spark team, lol. And he dropped. First time I ran into him, too. He popped up again in the same run but didn't drop q-q
Apparently you get a gem for completing floor 91-100 so I'll keep going.
And he's a breaker. Hopefully I can pick up an Anima while I finish up the other floors just because.

Curiously, since douglas's BB is random hit (which means each hit should be stronger than an aoe skill to compensate...) is it possible that douglas's BB deals more damage than his SBB to a single enemy?

I doubt it, since his SBB is 10 extra hits. Especially for a spark/crit team -- that's 10 more chances to spark/crit.
Goddam. Just fought three Lv 8 xenon's in the same round and he hits HARD. And none of them dropped
