JoeTang Wrote:Also, they're nerfing Cascade now.

Now I can go back to my Disintegrate build, granted I did find the Cascade bug hilarious. Blizzard (Snowbound) + Frost Armor (Frozen Storm) + Frost Nova (Frozen Mist) = missiles everywhere.
Was fun annihilating bosses in mere seconds.

So I was able to get the game, and I've been playing a bit. got to lvl 26 on a DH and I'm really enjoying it, any tips for my first time?

1. Salvage as much unusable gear as possible such as blues and whites. Keep yellow+ gear that other classes can use, usually gear with +main stat/+vit. If there's +all resist and/or +crit on the gear as well, it's usually a keeper.
2. Socket a Ruby into your helmet if you can, for faster leveling.
3. Haedrig is amazing for affordable at-level gear. Always sort through "Highest usable"
4. Unless you truly have the build and gear for it, always have a Resource generating skill.
5. Balance for offensive and defensive. Never build full glass cannon unless you're geared enough to utterly ignore taking damage.

Also as a heads up: You're going to have a hard time with Demon Hunter later on at Master-Torment+ difficulty. Damage is really high, but at the same time you'll have to a lot of hit and runs since you're pretty fragile. However, from what I hear Demon Hunter gets a lot easier with some choice Legendaries/sets. Just letting you now that if you expect Demon Hunter to faceroll content, other classes can do it easier. If you enjoy the challenge, keep at it.

*I leveled a Demon Hunter myself to 60, so I'm well aware how squishy they can be when you crank up the difficulty beyond Expert.

1. I didn't salvage much gear before but I do now.
2. No helmet with scoket yet
3. I don't know if I've been extremely lucky or what, but at lvl 26 I have found 4 useful legendaries, and the rest of the gear I find is better than what Headrig has to offer.
4. As a Demon Hunter , I'm running Evasive Fire with the Parting Gift rune as my Resource generating skill.
5. Thats what I've been trying to do.

Heads up response: I'm really enjoying Demon Hunter , I guess I will have to see how hard it will be for me to survive thought higher difficulties.

Damn man, the only set items I've gotten were two Blackthorne items and shitty rings lol.

Also have you tried doing the Act 4 Key farming method? People are reporting it to be way faster than farming Act 1/2/3 wardens.

Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - Evilince - 2014-03-15

Finally got the 3rd set piece for the new Nat's set.

Definitely jelly. I'm trying to find the entire 5pc set in order to get the 4pc effect. So far I have the torso and amulet pieces, the amulet not being used because I have a Moonlight Ward. How is Warden farming compared to Core runs? I've been grinding Core for the past 2 days and I've found a bunch of neat stuff.

Maximum Jelly here, I've been hoping for just the two set.... haven't even found a single piece. Frown

Oh? Do you mean just farming the Act IV guy to no end? Admittedly I tried joining T3 public games, and the amount of Elite/Unique packs that tend to surround the guy made for horrible deaths. Guess I'll do it solo for more reliable farming.

Haven't farmed Core, but for Wardens farm wise it's alright. Paragon leveling could be faster, and drops are a bit slow but still getting a Legendary every few hours or so.

Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - Tikey - 2014-03-15

Ah. Core is the opposite then. Normally I get around 3-4 legendary drops an hour simply because of how fast it is. My runs only last 1.5-2 minutes on T1, depending on how many elites spawn. If you have really high movement speed, you can probably get runs that last under a minute.

for paragon levels, I've been getting about a level every 2 hours in my low 80s.

Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - IllegallySane - 2014-03-15

Act IV Key Farming is pretty good as long as I join T1 public games. Everyone splitting up means finding the guy faster, and I can actually survive taking hits. Keys dropping at a fair rate, and always more fun when in a party.

Also for all Wizard players, I'm finding Illusionist to be incredibly powerful for survival. I thought taking 15% damage in 1 second is very situational, but it turns out I take 15% damage in that time far more often than I thought. I can really spam Teleport to almost D2 levels if I'm running through packs of mobs constantly. Also works amazingly when I'm playing more of a support based Wizard and tossing Slow Time out all over the screen.

I still don't understand why people are farming for legs, especially while the exp event is in progress. Many equips will be replaced even while leveling to 70, right? I'm content with gaining 6 levels an hour around 105+.

Because everyone wants shinies, some really enjoy collecting shinies, we can transmog (think Anviling) gear to shinies, and the gear would also making getting to 70 easier.

New favourite attack. so much.

also, I got plans for the Captain Crimson Legendary Set. which is pirate themed. very disappointed that it consists of Shoes, Pants and Belt, but doesn't include a Pirate Hat or Pirate Coat. Sad

I dont farm for legs exactly. I don't run through the whole game and reset over and over. I just do Keeps runs or Act 1 Quest 1 runs because they are good exp and still good for dropping legs. Cota is boring as hell.

Oh I agree, cota is definitely boring, but I am now farming it consistently on T5 solo, so the experience is sooo worth it for me. I mean, to each his own, I'd shoot myself in the foot before I tell someone else how to play a damn game (except LoL). I went from 100 to 124 today.

I also experimented with switching from Frozen Orb to Disintegrate today. I refuse to do it until I get a Moonlight Ward and that wand that increases Disintegrate damage. Even then I might not do it, because my Skorn is too fucking good. Sad

I'm sad they're being replaced in a little over a week Frown
