Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn - Foolyz - 2013-09-12 Tikey Wrote:I just starting leveling up my botany but it's so painfully slow. I don't want to use my leves on them because they give garbage exp. :/ Try to buy some gathering manuals if you can. That 50% bonus exp REALLY makes a difference for lower levels. I didn't know leves were so bad at that level. It started to slow down for me, even with manuals, after 24 or so. What I did up to that point was basically find a new mat or series of mats on the same nodes and then go farm until I had a full stack (regular, not HQ) of each. Seemed boring, but setting that goal really helped me focus. I then just dumped the mats into the company chest for anyone to use. By the way, they REALLY need some qol changes! I want an automatic split/retrieve function for retainers like you can do with your company chest. "How many would you like to retrieve?" Uh, that'd be amazing. Stealth slows you down to a glacial pace and it drives me insane. GP costs are EXTREMELY high, especially for crystal gathering. I don't notice the 100GP skills as much as I used to, but I still can't spam them constantly without consequences, and I can only use a shard skill once every couple of rotations. Um, helloooo, we need a crapton of shards; at least bump up the initial yield to 2-3, even more if you're feeling generous, since they give negligible exp. On a personal note, I think gathering a HQ item should give you 10 GP instead of the regular 5, that'd make the system more interesting, and really make you strive for HQ gathers, since at my level it's kind of like, "If I get one, great. If I don't, meh." Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn - Tikey - 2013-09-12 It doesn't seem so bad once you get into the zone. Got from 7 to 11 in an hour before the maintenance. I wish I could get the gc manuals, but I've been spending my seals on promotions. Haha. Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn - Polantaris - 2013-09-12 Tikey Wrote:I wish I could get the gc manuals, but I've been spending my seals on promotions. Haha. That's what I do as well. It doesn't seem possible to use Seals for anything except them, at least on your first class. Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn - Flonne - 2013-09-12 Why is it always the class that I decide on first that's the worst one in the game? After wiping over 100 times on Demon Wall in AK due to lack of healing potency I started to wonder if maybe, just maybe, Scholar is an abortion of a class that needs at least a 2-3x potency buff to even be on par with WHM, so I tried on a friend's WHM; lo and behold, everything that was once insanely difficult, absurdly difficult, retardedly difficult, was suddenly doable with my eyes closed. With a much higher gear level, I couldn't even heal for Aurum Vale on SCH, much less AK or Wanderer's; on WHM, I can heal for every piece of content I've run into thusfar without giving myself carpal tunnel, because you need an APM of a 47658268263 just to make SCH semi-mediocre. Why do they do this, why. Why do they put clearly unbalanced classes in a game that is supposed to be complete, because every fucking game I've ever played, I've found THAT CLASS. Without fail, every single time. Luckily, grinding in this game is easy, so I'll just roll WHM and have it 50 by the end of the weekend, still frustrating how much time I wasted on a worthless class though. I guess I play wayyyy too much, then I've bought three of the level 2 manuals, two of the level 1, and I'm at my highest promotion up to the level 44 quest. Not to mention at least 10k in gear from the merchant.

SCH is a good class, their barriers and damage mitigation are pretty amazing. Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn - Dusk - 2013-09-13 Flonne Wrote:Luckily, grinding in this game is easy Well, there's a relative term (of course, this is a MapleStory forum). How many gameplay hours does that take? Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn - Flonne - 2013-09-13 Dusk Wrote:Well, there's a relative term (of course, this is a MapleStory forum). How many gameplay hours does that take? A couple days for me; never really looked at it hourwise but you get +50% exp from FATEs and stuff once you have a level 50. I have 4-5 classes at 30+ now without too much effort. Thunder Wrote:http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/forums/659-Healer-Roles I know how to use the class, it just isn't that good. The only benefit is battle res, and you don't need that when nobody ever dies. The barriers are terrible at endgame aside from crit aldoquim; succor isn't even worth mentioning, you shouldn't even hotkey that garbage, I tried making it useful and it just flat isn't, 150 potency is nothing. Sacred Soil only reduces 10% damage and lasts 15 seconds; that's OK, but not good enough, especially when it takes away a Lustrate cast. Fairy is retarded and gets hit by literally every aoe at endgame, and is very hard to control when you are trying to keep it from casting things until pressure points in the fight. I thought it may have just been because I didn't use macros for a while, but when I tried them I found I was only gaining a few fractions of a second (and less carpal tunnel), which still just wasn't enough, not even close. Macros are really just for people without high reaction times for targeting. Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn - Polantaris - 2013-09-13 Foolyz Wrote:I guess I play wayyyy too much, then I think it very much depends on how much you FATE run. I've tried to avoid it as much as possible. I do FATEs that I encounter, but I haven't spent time JUST doing FATEs until very recently. Honestly it's pretty boring and the grinders get very angry and rude when things aren't exactly how they like them. They're exactly the type of people I try to stay away from. However, if you do only FATEs for a while you get a ton of Seals. Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn - Dusk - 2013-09-13 I was very frustrated with the pet being tied to your global cooldown. Pet classes always seem to be underpowered at launch in MMOs. Bad AI and pathing, no AOE resistance, and poor support for commands is just too common. Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn - Flonne - 2013-09-13 Thunder Wrote:Fun piece of knowledge. Succor if used the moment someone starts raising, it negates the death debuff. Death debuff? What are you referring to? oh, you mean the "weakness" state that reduces HP/MP 15%? Didn't know that, that's nice I guess, but still doesn't make the class worth it lol. Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn - Tikey - 2013-09-13 There's a levequest called "Maple Stories". Haha.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn - Thunder - 2013-09-13 near enough every FATE is a reference to something lol Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn - Polantaris - 2013-09-14 I like reading the FATE descriptions. They're usually pretty amusing. Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn - Foolyz - 2013-09-14 Not only FATEs. Pretty much every quest, leve or FATE is some sort of reference or common phrase. I thought they were cute at first, and then I was like, "Really? Reaaaalllly?" Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn - Tikey - 2013-09-14 Sharknado. Anyways, I've been planning out my CUL gear in order to be able to craft the level 70 recipes, and I have to get the full level 50 set with some being HQ, meld them all with control 3 materia (11 slots total), and make some level 55 +control dishes. Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn - Polantaris - 2013-09-15 ![]() Ding! Level 50 Summoner! I love this outfit too. Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn - Dusk - 2013-09-16 Christ, I had to grind all weekend to get Black Mage. 20 more levels to go. Edit: The crafting in this game is more addictive than the game itself. I got Culinary and Carpenting up to 15 just for the cross-class skills. And I don't even know why I leveled Alchemy.
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn - Tikey - 2013-09-16 So this is what I've been doing for the past couple of hours.
