I thought I learned my lesson on having too many Fiber One bars before--I was wrong. The five I had yesterday haven't been sitting well with me and now I'm dealing with some very unfortunate consequences.

Anyway, I figured out a very simple poor man's solution to tricep pushdowns:

 Spoiler
And lately I've been watching and trying to analyze Dan Green's (a powerlifter) form. Since I have a scheduled deload this week I figured I'd try out some different variations on exercises to see which suit me best. I'm going to try training sumo deadlifts for strength/rep maxes alongside conventional deadlifts, which I plan on doing whenever I do high volume.

Dan Green is also probably the best badass to idolize.

I have no excuses.

My first pole dance class was today, and dear lord I have not had so much fun or felt so sexy in a long time. Poast

I also feel like my arms will be sore tomorrow. Still have lots of work to do on my upper body and core! FSKFKSDKFSKDFSLKFJLKJF so good! Contemplating buying a pole for the apartment, but I don't really have proper space for it; I am considering it as motivation to get this place cleaned up and cleaned out.

Cool

SF wouldn't judge you if you used the street lamp outside of your house. ^_^

Did stiff-leg deficit pulls and snatch-grip pulls earlier today. I didn't need functioning hamstrings anyway.

Lol you're right, they wouldn't... I was eyeing the stop sign at the bus stop the other day but decided against it. Poast

Hams are overrated anyway
SLDL's make me question my fucking functional strength. ;_;

Tomorrow's 5/3/1:

DEADLIFT (SUMO):
170x5
210x5
255x3
280x5
320x5
365x5

SQUAT:
185x10
185x10
185x10
185x10
185x10

(+random assistance exercises)

Is my body ready?

I trained sumo all last week and it just feels better than conventional for me--I can keep form super easily and I feel like I can lift more weight with it. Hopefully 365x5 doesn't kill me.

I think my form is okay, but my last rep was sketchy. I need to point my feet out wider. The first thing on my mind when pulling sumo is to try to touch my pelvis to the bar throughout the whole movement. Overall it felt solid, much more efficient than conventional pulls. I'll still be pulling conventional for high volume, and occasionally when ramping up to heavy weight.

Also I don't know where the sound went.

I didn't eat enough yesterday so I felt pooped the fuck out on squats and only did 3x10. I did ab wheels for assistance, and only did 3x15, as opposed to 5x15, on those as well. I feel like I could collapse any second now.

Hit the gym today. did 5 mins warm up of cardio, then worked chest, abs, and upper legs. Good times, and I hope to lose weight soon. Big Grin

(If I can stop binging on snacks at night) ;_;

My chest is weird. I am right-handed in everything I do, and my right arm is definitely stronger, yet my right pectoral muscle is visibly smaller than the left, even though I work them both as evenly as I can.
It's been like this for years now, from when I was working to now when I'm going to the gym.

Has anybody else experienced this and have some tips on how to fix it?

Three weeks into pole class and dear lord every week is better than the last. And today, all my conditioning paid off big time! We did pole-ups (like pull-ups but you know, you grab the pole instead) and pole sits, and I was one of only two girls who were actually able to do them. OMG SUCH A BIG BOOST TO MY SELF ESTEEM YAY. Also we learned some sexy spins and I felt like such a boss.

Been cleaning out the apartment a little bit every day to make space for the pole I will inevitably buy. Cannot wait! Blush

Went off my EC stack for a week before restocking yesterday. Now I'm just really sleepy all the time...

Starting to stall on my squat too, but I'm pretty sure that's just my diet, plus I am actually cutting pretty hard and I guess that's expected. I'm gonna up the protein and lower everything else and see what happens. Cutting at 2k, hopefully 200g protein now. I've been stuck at 166 pounds/75kg for the past week.

Fitness thread - Imitazion - 2013-08-25

You need to tamper off the EC, you can't just go cold turkey - at least not without risk.

Fitness thread - SheLovesYou - 2013-08-26

Changed up my workout routine. Added ropeskipping to it. I'm doing 1000 a day now, it's a nice change. Also going towards 3 months of daily workouts, woohoo. xD

What do you do for chest? Have you tried separating weights (dumbbells instead of barbells)?

Fitness thread - chrome - 2013-08-27

Today was deadlift day. I didn't pull as much as I wanted. The whole time I was thinking, "Man, I should eat more."

So I got back and made all my food for the day and I am eating it all right now. It's been an hour and I'm still not finished (But I am very full).

Good decision? Probably not. But it's one way to make sure I'm getting all macros.

This thread needs an update!

 better than a gym membership

Yes lads, it is true. And it is mine! This week will be the last of the six classes that I had originally signed up for, but I found a Living Social deal for another studio for a really great price (any folks in the SF bay area take advantage here!) so I will be continuing my new education in the pole arts.

I think I am in the best shape I have been in for at least seven years... probably since I last took judo/jujitsu classes at the local community college. I can feel myself getting stronger each week and it is so amazing. I really feel like pole dancing saved my life. Ridiculous, no? But it has been such a motivator to get myself in shape, and such a boost to my self-esteem. I wish I had done this years ago.

I finally broke lmao3plaet1!1 romanian deadlift today.
No video, but here's a picture of the beauty I pulled.

Pre-training breakfast.

(Piece of bread...and 14 BCAA capsules)

Fitness thread - Imitazion - 2013-09-10

w-why so many

Fitness thread - chrome - 2013-09-10

1. They were on sale
2. Recommended dosage is like 3500mg L-leucine...2 capsules is 500mg.

It paid off (somehow) either way, because I pulled 4 plates sumo an hour later. On the downside I'm not gaining any weight.
