It's not Haki, it's Fishman Karate. Since Fishmen have been shown to be much stronger than humans, it's not a stretch for one of them to be able to punch hard enough to cause a pulse of sheer water/air pressure, especially if it's Jinbe.

He might not be dying. That's too predictable after looking at the last page or so. I think there was change/transformation mentioned? He could be reborn into a body that acclimated the pills effects, with the side power of calling sea beasts. Good thing luffy is a bamf and will take care of them if they ravage the town. If not luffy than shirahoshi, who after seeing hodi attack the town asks luffy to beat him.

Luffy saving the town = prediction of fishman island being destroyed.
Hodi took too many steroids and if anything he'll go into a bezerker rage and start killing everything. The sea beasts are scared cause his power level is over 9000 and they don't want to screw with that.

Also, the fights are shaping up to be a lot more interesting than it seemed at first. Now, Hodi might be able to match up to Luffy more for a fight and despite Zoro previously one-shotting Hodi, Hyouzou getting a power-up makes Zoro's eventual fight with him more even. I'm curious who'd fight Ikaros. He's got those Dried Squid Spears, but it's also revealed he can use dried squids as projectiles. Since his weakness is fire and it looks like he's at least somewhat of a ranged fighter, Usopp could fight him. Although, it feels like Usopp would match up really well against Vander Decken. Just throwing out random guesses, but perhaps Nami or Brooke could fight him.

Maybe Nami. She does have her Clima-tact, and last I saw she could use it as a flamethrower.

Damn, Hodi's transformation was underwhelming from what I was expecting based on last week's chapter. I was expecting him to become some kind of inhuman monster, but the fact he came out okay suprised me. Also, how the heck did his coat change colors?

Ha, you think luffy lost to jinbei? Even if luffy *could* lose to jinbei on his own, with sanji, nami, robin, franky and chopper all there? Not a chance. I think its more likely they're taking the thousand sunny there, and letting jinbei have his chance to try and talk to hodi. I can guarentee all the straw hats that were on that island are also now on the way to the execution plaza with everyone else.
This entire plot seems redundant though. It annoys me that the only reason hodi and his crew weren't all completely decimated by zoro was because he didn't think it was worth making a bubble for himself, yet brook and ussop found time to do so. I hope that zoro is the one that ends up fighting hodi, rather than luffy. It'd be nice to know it won't be incredibly obvious from near the moment whatever miniboss squad every arc has is introduced, who would be fighting who.

Idk man the thing that caught my eye was that jinbei had some scars and roughed up marks on him. The fight at least continued, I don't think it was a real real fight but it was enough to make Luffy step down.
And Zolo had to distract hodi and didn't have time to make a bubble for himself.

GOD DAMMIT. THE TIME SKIP WAS 10 FRIGGIN MONTHS AGO AND WE HAVE YET TO SEE THE MAIN CHARACTERS GET INTO REAL BATTLES.
When was the last time we saw the straw-hats in any sustainable fight? Thriller Bark? They did some fighting on Shabondy, but it was mostly "I'll hold them off, get the hell outa here" since everybody they were fighting were absurdly stronger. Then we go through the time skip, get samples of their new powers and abilities, and we keep seeing other characters fight. It's not that I don't think there shouldn't be other characters other than the mains, but when they go 10 chapters with the main characters featured in like one or two it's absurd.
