Uh, yeah, no, fire emblem awakening.

Oh, I forgot where I had to buy the game again to get the full content. Thanks for the reminder, masochist.

Considering the price on the DLC's, buying a few of the packages can run you up to $18+

Thats only buying the really popular ones too. If you bought all the maps, you can quite literally waste $30+ on that game in DLC.

And if you want to attempt some of the harder modes in the game, DLC is kinda needed.

Define "full content", you get extra (very necessary items), character interactions, and a non-luck based lunatic/lunatic+.

Just FYI referring to me as a masochist is kind of, irrelevant, princess, since I don't play games that punish me for, ya know, playing.

Sakurai Wrote:Pic of the day. This is the World Status you can see in Spectator mode. The game isn't released yet so the map looks pretty plain now, but I wonder what it'll look like once it's out? Also, this is where you can see all sorts of stats being tallied up. In Group play and Spectator mode, you can see characters you haven't unlocked yet, so watch out if you don't want to be spoiled.

Sakurai Wrote:Even if you don't want to be spoiled, it might be wise to select the Online option at least once before you start the game. Your Global Smash Power won't appear until the first time you connect to the internet. Not only that, but there could potentially be a patch available that can resolve potential issues, like the one being released now for the Japanese version of the game. For the package version, updates can be pre-downloaded to your system even before you purchase the game, so make sure you look out for them.

Sucks.

The patch he mentions contains a game mode... sort of.

Sounds kinda cool, just adds another element of competition to online play.

Razmos Wrote:I am truly getting sick of the Ridley pomegranate.

He is not most peoples "dream character". Sure some people might legitimately want him as a playable character but the majority of people saying stuff like "RIDLEY CONFIRMED, RIDLEY FOR SMASH, OMG RIDLEY" and seeing hints at Ridley in everything are just hangers on who probably don't even know who Ridley is other than being some kind of purple space dragon from Metroid. The only reason people care is because it has reached meme status.

Ridley got so much attention because he was one of the most requested characters in the west. Heck, even way back in melee when the first opening was shown at e3 or tgs or something, people started whooping and such when ridley appeared. Presuming people don't know who he is quite a leap in logic.

People aren't going to stop talking about ridley I'm afraid, until he gets added as playable, be it in smash 4 dlc, smash 5, or smash 2143.

Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS Discussion - Evolite - 2014-09-12

I don't understand why people want ridley to be the same size/height as samus. He would look ridiculous.

Almost as ridiculous as bowser looks when he was changed to be roughly the same height as mario?

In game heights don't have to transfer to smash. Bowser, even when he's not in his inevitable giant form, tends to be several marios in size.

Ridley was roughly samus size in the melee opening and looked fine.

ACTUALLY Bowser is kind of a special case.

Apparently the explanation they give is MAGIC. Kamek's magic, apparently.

Good God they made Starstorm not suck.

OH, we're only using NES sprites as our reference and not all 30 years since?

Brilliant, then ridley is the same size as samus anyway. Because he was in the original metroid because the hardware couldn't handle bigger sprites.

But ridley does the exact same thing. Compare his size in the original metroid to super metroid to metroid prime to other m.
He's different sizes in all of them.
Except the excuse isn't "magic" but he's in various stages of regrowth after dying and being reborn.

That's a good point I didn't really know actually.

Bowser's size fluctuates all the time in modern Mario games. While Ridley is always massive in modern Metroid games.

You can't say both "that one is too big for smash" and "it's fine to cut his size in half to make him fit in smash" for two different characters. No-one would mind having to scale ridley to half or 1/3rd or whichever fraction you like of his size in the most recent game for these arbitrary size limits that people are putting on characters.

Mario/bowser in smash aren't even close to keeping the same height ratios (even before giant magic) as in either of the latest super mario 2d/3d games, so the entire idea of it being required is absurd.

And this is all I have to say on the inane ridley height thing, it's been done over and over so much already, I'd only be repeating someone else.
