We definitely disagree on how much blame lies on Trump. I think you give too much credit to free thought of the general public. Obviously it's irrelevant how Trump made them feel - it's wrong no matter what. But that fact that it IS happening is the issue.
I disagree with that stance on islam. (Noting that I dislike the concept of religion in general), Certain religions combined with certain cultures is a way to cultivate the same kind of hatred against the 'other' that the Trump campaign did. I see the hypocrisy in both parties and point it out in the conversations I have.
I don't think the world is going to end. I don't think we're going to break out in WWIII. I don't think there will be mass genocide. Life will continue on as it always has.

I don't live in the city. My district voted republican. I chose not to respond because you (incorrectly) assumed the extent of my horizon was extreme-liberal media (the only one I have seen is huffpo from that list), and that I've never read breitbart articles.
I have. I've seen both sides. I understand the major complaints and worries of both sides.
My stances are based on fact, logic, and critical thinking.
The facts with Trump are: his campaign was fueled with hatred and fear. People are influenced by it, and some are making irrational decisions.
The following logic- is this hatred and divide good for the country? No. Is it necessary to clean out the establishment? I don't think so (opinion). And he's already started filling his positions with establishment. What a surprise.
The majority of his supporters don't care about what he did the past 18 years. Maybe he's actually done great things, I don't know, it's irrelevant. The important part is how he ran his campaign and garnered support- because THAT is what most of his supporters agreed with.
Donald SHOULD have to fix the divide in this country because his campaign created it! Do you guys think there would be this much unrest if it ended up Cruz vs Clinton and Cruz won?
What do you think would have happened if Clinton won? He told his supporters everything was rigged and they believed him. Would the same people saying "lol liberal crybabies grow up this is democracy" have sat back and calmly accepted a Clinton victory?
The extreme negativity of Trump's platform was not the proper way to address the concerns his supporters want.

The problems I see are not with LGBQT and "minorities" in general, but with the specific minorities he demonized: the "rapist" Mexicans and "terrorist" Muslims. If Our Savior Trump says Muslims are terrorists or terrorist sympathizers and need to be deported, then I'm doing the right thing beating up that sand-nigger walking down my street like he owns it, right?
You're right that the law will punish such actions, but that's not exactly going to help the people already injured or worse.
Oh well, what's done is done. All we can do is watch and see what happens next.

Sad part is, he was polling theoretically higher against Trump from day 1. She doesn't give a pineapple about her party or her party winning, it's 100% about herself and if she doesn't win she doesn't care who does, but what she really did was not only throw her party under the bus but even herself, nobody would have dug as deeply into the emails or any of this other pomegranate if she hadn't put herself in the spotlight in the first place, a few people may have figured it all out regardless but it's likely not enough people would give a pomegranate for the government to even start looking into her in the first place. Karma is quite literally being a peach to her at the moment, and rightfully so.

Trump talks about exactly what I was saying a few days ago, he obviously gets it because he just got done with actual campaigning, and the people who are critical of his win need to understand it as well. Again, if we didn't have an electoral college, he still would have won, utilizing the popular vote more efficiently instead; he wouldn't have campaigned a ton in heavy red states, he would have done so in heavy blue states the majority of the time. The effect of Hillary doing the same, ESPECIALLY given her frequency of rallies, would be much weaker, since the heavy blue states are far fewer than the heavy red states, she would have had to actually work harder on the campaign trail than Trump did, which was absolutely not in a million years ever going to happen, she could barely waddle up on stage once a week for 5 minutes.
