Animal Crossing New Leaf megathread: The economy of Bells, Fruit and Turnips. - 案山子 - 2013-07-05

So today I pay off the final loan for my house and I have to say it feels pretty good. Spent about an hour on the island just now planting the flowers and trees back as well as doing some casual bug catching during tours and on the island itself since Bug Off is later this month. Feels good knowing I never have to grind for cash ever again and can actually ENJOY the island... Switching ordinance back to Beautiful Town since I won't ever be needed Bell Boom, and possibly never Night Owl again either.

Now to keep up the work on my town and check in on Nook's Homes until I see the old school Japanese house model for sale. Rolleyes

Does anybody know whether or not you can unlock a pond for a Public Works Project?
Or another large water structure?

Thanks Smile

You can unlock "ponds" of some kind, yes. Not ones that go in the ground though; they're like, raised up and bordered with rocks -- Japanese style. There's also a geyser public work if I'm not mistaken which of course does shoot water out. Other than that there's nothing available in terms of an actual pond for fishing in.

I meant more of a pond, like, replacement for the fountain.

In the end, none of us caught that fish. Rolleyes

Finally caught a second Scorpion for display purposes. The first one I saw today hopped into the river as soon as I saw it... You know sometimes I regret picking the layout that's like 80% river... Hard to build anything and it makes tarantula/scorpion hunting even more stressful.

I picked the one that has a U river myself...not knowing any better...and I regret it deeply. My town wants more Public Works, but I have almost no space to put them anywhere, it sucks. It took me 30 minutes to find a good spot to place Blathers' friend's cafe.

Welp, my old town was pissing me off to the point that I restarted. I got a much roomier town, even with a "bigger" ocean.

I got Mott, Dizzy, Gaston (Ahhhh ye), Lolly, and Elise. Town fruit is peach now, and I was lucky enough to start off with a perfect peach in my town so yep. Sucks having lost all my badges and collection in the reset but it was driving me so insane. My town sucked cause it had barely any decent projects and it didn't have many because it couldn't fit many. Rolleyes Was just like having a narrow, muddy alley for a town. Fucking sucked.

It's so hard to meet people per Streetpass here. My purse is already so heavy and I still carry my 3DS around. Yesterday was my second time. Yay!~

Streetpass anywhere outside of Japan is impossibru. Rolleyes

Best bets are decent sized nerdy conventions.

Edit: I have also developed a 100% guaranteed way of catching tarantulas/scorpions. The only challenge is just finding them, but catching them is 100%, no risk.

I brought my 3DS with me to school one day to get Play Coins and i got 4 Street Passes Biggrin

Oh my god!!! I went shopping today and took my 3DS with me, virtually right after posting about not receiving any or only few Street Passes. Coincidentally, today was some Cosplay day in the mall, so I got like 24 Street Passes. Yay! xD

Soooo much furniture available for order. +__+

Only place I can get a lot of Street Passes over here is school. I've taken my 3DS everywhere with me and I'm lucky to run into 1-2 people at best elsewhere. Hell, even taking it to crowded places gets me nothing majority of the time.

Nobody seems to know what a 3DS is in Ohio, let alone Animal Crossing. I brought mine along to a festival where at least a good 150+ people were amassed.

Not a single Street Pass.

Found this, and it differentiates between real and counterfeit pieces of art from Redd's tent, thought I'd share:

Also, I know Redd comes once a week randomly, but will he come on days when others come (i.e., Sahara/Joan/Gulliver/Katrina/etc.).

I tend to use this site instead: http://www.thonky.com/animal-crossing-new-leaf/paintings-works-of-art/

Both work, really.
