Sorry if I get annoying, I'm just venting :p

That said, I bet the skills you keep are the ones with the same skill ID. I guess Fiel will have to provide.

Speed indirectly adds to DPS and exp/min.

Try training without haste as a thief.

And that's without considering ropes/ladders.

Sorry, should have stated it as "More speed isn't going to cause much difference for most classes".

Alloy Wrote:Try training without haste as a thief.

Archers getting a higher speed cap suddenly took away haste from thiefs? Damn, that sucks.

After reading the MM updates...
holy crap they converted the MM into MegaMan!
Pierce is simply the megaman Buster Shot now ¬¬ can kill everyone in one freaking shot....

Holy crap... if a cygnus outdid a NL how a MM and BM would drestroy a Cygnus? and how about PVP? ...

Nooope. But now Archers have everything thieves had, only better.

If 40 speed is important, imagine 60. If it didn't matter that much, nobody would upgrade their mounts after the first one.

Oh, also, passive 30 speed from bow mastery, too. We don't loose it, but archers now have it better than us. And hey, their flash jump is on second job there, making us way slower from lv 30 to 70... Even having haste. Don't know about you, but that doesn't make any sense to me.

Archers used to have to spend 20 3rd job skill points to get that 30 speed, pomegranate was fair back then.

If anything, I can see FJ being moved to second job or something in the Thief update.

Really, chill until you guys see the Thief update (assuming there is one) and don't act as if you guys are stuck with what you have forever. I've personally always thought archers were the second-fastest class in terms of mobility (Thieves obviously being first), and it'll most likely stay that way because it makes little sense otherwise.

Besides, if Double Jump is as I think it is (equal to WH's), then FJ is still better. o_o

JoeTang Wrote:Archers used to have to spend 20 3rd job skill points to get that 30 speed, pomegranate was fair back then.

Nope, that's why I stated earlier that it feels fitting to archers, and all, at about the beginning of the thread. What I'm saying is that, right now, it feels completely unnatural the fact that we can use haste and archers go faster than us, the ones casting it; the supposed "speed class". That was towards the comment about "Speed doesn't matter".

And don't worry, we'll be using 20 points on 2nd job so you can go faster than us... Doesn't make much sense, does it?

So this brings us to this point:

Yeah, we still have to wait for the thief update. Right now, I'm feeling like this because all we got recently, instead of a bit more variety, was just the nerf of our main attacking skill (the only one on single target). What common sense is telling me, is that we'll get our speed cap raised too, with a passive speed boost, also. I'm daydreaming about having 200 speed, 165 jump, unmounted, but could still make sense.

In fact, How archers are set at the moment, it feels awesome to think that there's a class that's gonna benefit more with haste, the same way us NLs benefit more from Sharp Eyes. Just doesn't feel natural at the moment.

Dizzy, those comics are amazing! *_*

I'm still unsure why people are frustrated that Archers, and BM's especially, are getting this much deserved and needed boost.

Additionally, NL's have been on the top of things for a very long time. I have pretty decent gear and yet my range is isn't impressive compared to some nl's that also have similarly equivalent gear, and they hit far higher than I do. It's been that way for a long time. For us BM's and MM's to get these amazing buffs is about time. I'm ecstatic about them and cannot wait for JUMP to come to gms.

JoeTang, I tried to dl your calculator so I could run some numbers but the site said it was turned private. Sad

While I agree Bowmen needed the change, and it's fitting and all, it's also true that NLs have been getting lower and lower for quite a while now, just saying (Just to compare, the bandit branch has more DPS and skill variety, yet nobody compares them). There was a thread around with proof, but lazy to find it D:

Most people don't upgrade their mount because you can't really feel the difference between 150 and 170.

MetaSeraphim Wrote:Most people don't upgrade their mount because you can't really feel the difference between 150 and 170.

Almost positive they don't upgrade the mount because it's too expensive/time consuming for the casual gamer.

And for those saying NL's have been at the top for a while, well, it doesn't mean they suddenly deserve to be pushed to the bottom ever since BigBang and having stayed there even at Chaos. Sure, archers deserve a buff, but the changes they've made feel more fit for thieves than archers and feels pretty much akin to giving warriors magic attacks.

MariaColette Wrote:Besides, if Double Jump is as I think it is (equal to WH's), then FJ is still better. o_o

From what I can tell in the videos, it's the WH's double jump. And having a WH myself, I can say that with double jump and 100% Jump instead of 123% Jump allows a character to jump higher than a Night Lord with 123% Jump and FJ-ing at peak maximum. This makes more difference when it comes to vertical or layered non-flat maps in addition to climbing ladders and getting off them speedily. And since there are more vertical maps than horizontal filled with lots of platforms in Maple, you get my point...

I agree, NL's have been sliding. But that's just because they were so far ahead of the other classes.

I'm talking after Big Bang :p

And even before, if you didn't have Sharp Eyes, you were simply lame. Heck, even Triple throw was stronger than Avenger on mobs of 4 or less. Sharp eyes was like a free x2 damage bonus.

How so? BM's are supposed to be high dps at bosses. Thus, drain makes perfect sense as it's very helpful for bossing, especially as bosses like Van Leon and Empress pop up more often. Double Jump is a bit of overkill but I won't begrudge it. Advanced FA is a very nice improvement and it makes sense to me. Improving on earlier skills is a trend for nexon.

Warriors do have magic attacks. Elemental charges isn't magic? Beholder isn't magic? Combo Charges aren't magic?
