1 - He was in the circle, around the top left or right If i recall correctly.
2 - It was said by the Narrator that the waters around Tenrou Island had been searched for 6 months and no survivor was found. If they had survived they wouldn't have abandoned their guild and therefore people would know they are alive.
They most likely were warpped away. Wether it was through time or to another dimension is yet to be shown.

Well, they could have been warped to the spirit world for a short time to reappear somewhere else, we know humans can travel through it after all. That still leaves the question of why they abandoned the guild though.

They didn't abandon the guild it doesn't seem like they had a choice...It's not like they willingly said "oh lets tele out of here we'll show up latah," they were about to die and (apparently) Mavis saved them, they should not have even known about her.
I doubt they just time skipped and decided not to show back up, what's the point in that.

Also, I started reading the manga from the start of this arc so, this may or may not be part of it.
In the anime, during Laxus' arc there are like 2 scenes where Gajeel was acting as a double spy for Makarov, what the hell happened to that?

He's been spying on Iwan/Ivan (Jesus Christ, Fairy Tail really should make up its mind more on official Romanizations), Makarov's son and Laxus's father.
And yes, I really agree. Gazille is friggin' awesome, why the hell does he seem so weak now? Seriously, he takes a look at Pantherlily in Edolas and he's like "YOU'RE GONNA BE MY CAT, BITCH".
Then again, powerlevels in Fairy Tail are terrible. Gerard should have been absolutely mindblowingly insane, but Natsu beat him. Then we establish stuff like Brain/Zero being the teacher of Gerard, which probably makes him stronger- but Natsu still beat him. Makarov gets "killed" too many times in this series, only for him to conveniently still be alive and then kicks ass. The Seven Kin of Purgatory should have all been beyond most of their fighting capabilities, but they win through FRIENDSHIP and willpower every time. Hades should have been much stronger than Makarov and probably also stronger than Gildartz, but Hades is apparently easy enough to fight among Natsu, Lucy, Gray, Erza, and Wendy with Laxus coming in to join the fight and they manage to beat him.
Since we mention Gazille, I wish Wendy could fight. I hope that if they'll have grown and gotten stronger, Wendy can actually fight now.

I agree SC, Gazille should have fought a seven purgatory alone, or at least with that Levy chick and won, or EVEN teamed up with like fucking Cana/Lucy weak team or someone to win. They underplayed him.

You speak like Kawazu and Yomazu were some weak nobodies, when they were high ranking enough in grimore heart to be advising Hades way back in chapter 131.
Not to mention, how many other people won 1v2 fights in the entire arc? I'll give you a hint : Natsu didn't win a single fight without other peoples help. Yes,I know Levy was there at the start of Gajeels fight, but she ran away before they even got a hit in.
And thats on top of the fact that he didn't have access to any healing magic (Which natsu needed after every fight), and took a sword Right through his entire arm.

I seriously doubt they travelled through time. How much of let down would that be. Heres a redesign of all the characters you don't give a pomegranate about! But everyone important looks the same.
Plus everyone does need a power up. Or at least the 3/4 Dragonslayers (if we're counting luxus), because otherwise they'll never be able to fight a dragon.

Yeah... but think about it. Mavis or whoever was there at the island may've sent them to the future, along with the island. The island completely disappeared for 7 years, and suddenly Blue Pegasus finds out the island is still there. Also, why would they disappear for 7 whole years, leaving their guild behind, to train? They could've returned to the guild, and go on a training journey or something like that, like Naruto. Unless the place they got to was really amazing to train, or they couldn't escape from there...
Time travel is what makes more sense. But well, after Edolas and Lisanna being alive after that, everything is possible.
Talking about Edolas. Does anyone know why Wendy was older? Will they ever explain that? (I hope they do, instead of just being "lolfanservice")

Also in case anyone didn't notice: Bisca and Alzack have married (They have the same last name now).
Even if they can time travel, what would be the point? They wouldn't have needed to go 7 years in the future to be safe, they could have just gone a week ahead and carried on as normal.
Why would they dissapear for 7 whole years and NOT train? Just because they didn't time travel, doesn't mean they could leave the island or get back to fairy tail, because obviously they would have if they could.
But yeah, when everyone gets back, the first order of buisness will be to pineapple Twilight Ogres pomegranate up.
