If you plan to PvP at all, Dash Slash and Dash Combo are indispensable.

Original Dragon Nest Thread - Kaasoljoyyx - 2011-11-10

案山子 Wrote:Dash Slash/Combo are great at lower levels, but they're never learned for damage, only their usefulness against mobs. (That's why builds are never seen with them past Lv1) At higher levels where more SP/skills are available Slash/Combo are no longer as useful as the other options you have.

I dropped them entirely to allow myself to learn/level skills that I found far more useful against mobs, and even more powerful.

Sounds good. I can't really make any of my builds final until I actually try them out but I don't want to bother playing cDN.

I usually dont' get dash slash activated anyway. Most of the time I tumble to the left and end up using dash combo for some damage when I dodge.

Also, I finally got around to updating the skill crest guide: http://www.dragonnestsource.com/forum/guides/7651-what-skill-crests-should-i-use-wip.html

I stated myself my builds = 100% PvE-oriented.

I won't be held responsible for anyone being burned, maimed, eaten alive, or pinched in PvP by using my builds.

So I'm gonna be at some crossrounds soon here. I can either get luring slice or parry stance. I'm not sure how luring slice works though so can anyone explain to me?

I will be semi-PvP oriented (gladiator) probably btw.

How do you make your moonlight splitter shoot out in front of you? I was doing some PvP and it looks like the other SMs were shooting out moonlight splitter

Just don't aim at the ground and it fires out infront of you. It has a pretty good range, too.

Don't worry, I didn't know that either when I first started my swordsman too =P

So, after trying 2 dungeons now knowing that I can moonlight splitter 10 miles away, its made things 100x easier. The damage moonlight splitter does is already crazy high. I am thinking of using the free reset and trying a different build after seeing this video

This is probably the build I'm going for
http://dnarmory.com/skill-calc?c=1&sc=11&tc=&ll=32#bRe5A4y7bqNYH7ieAN
I'm using the Rising Strike crest for this build. I think the damage it does makes it worth it since I'm stacking phys damage and going for gladiator. I prefer the quick high hits to the constant damage of moonlord. I also don't have enough SP to get parry stance until 40, so I'm leaving out counter wave, and increasing moonlight splitter instead. I use dash slash combo A LOT so I prefer to get that over parry stance.

-----------------------
Edit- YUP!!

Too bad I don't have an NX outfit cause that would bring me over 2k easily lol
I just need a really good necklace and sword for my swordmaster and I can xfer equips between each character. It's really going to be hard to beat Argenta's breath since phys and magic damage are both really strong for SM. I'd need like a 90+ strength neck with some intellect on it with strength HA for it to be stronger.

Luring slice makes the defense of targets lower, so you do more damage.

Competitive PvP looks down on parry stance (i.e. it's banned in those games).

DrRusty Wrote:-snip

You should drop rising slash to 6 and drop splitter down to pre-req with an SP reset later since you're going gladiator. Also I don't think it's that great of an idea to get a rising slash plate since there are much better options. That skill can leave you pretty vulnerable too if you use it at the wrong time.

PvE gladiator skill crests don't have too much to choose from though unless you put a lot of points into a magic skill as well. If you're gonna do PvP as well then it's easier.

It's a 32 build. You get a skill reset at 40 anyway so I'll make a 40 build then.

and I'm using the rising slash crest because I happened to find it while leveling =D. I don't have any issues with rising slash though since the animation/damage starts instantly after pressing it. That helps keep me from getting in a bad spot with it. Cyclone slash and crescent cleave are the 2 skills that give me trouble because of their long animations. I pretty much just open up with them and don't use them again unless I need to dash out.

Usually I'll open up with cyclone slash -> moonlight splitter. Dash in with a dash combo -> eclipse -> rising slash -> triple slash -> forward thrust out. Then I can cyclone slash -> moonlight splitter again or just moonlight splitter if the mobs are too close. Hacking stance also seems to be pretty good after the initial opener and eclipse especially on big mobs. Eclipse lowering super armor generation rate + hacking stance being able to cut through super armor seems really useful.

if you are good at dodging, doing the -defskill (forgot name)->eclipse->cycloneslash->hacking stance a boss one just after the other, you can see the armor go down so fast xD

Managed to find a Quality Healing Relic crest for below 150g. I am OK with this.

People expected we were gonna get a skill reset at 32 and look what happened \o/.

The only time we'd get resets in our version is each job advance because they're given through the quest.

Event resets from Nexon? Probably never happening. They've already claimed how they absolutely refuse to give free ones and want players to buy them, and only MAYBE they'll have a sale on them at some point. I think they were really hoping players would give in and buy them during Lv32 cap to be honest.

anyone have a problem with their left click getting stuck? I don't have the problem in WoW, minecraft, normal browsing, or anything really except d nest. It only happens after using a special attack. If I'm playing my archer and I do a frag arrow and hit my left click at the same time (to normal attack after frag arrow's animation) sometimes it will get stuck and my character will continue to normal attack even if I let go of all buttons.

help?

it has happened to me, but it's usually my actual laptop getting the button stuck, try normal attacking again and moving the button around?
