Alright, I decided that I'm going to try again at making an Acrobat. I'm pretty dead set on making her a Windwalker in the long run, but Acrobats seem to have a lot of useful skills in 2nd job (essentially making SP allocation about as big of a mess as it is for Mercenaries). So I need some advice, particularly in regards to exactly how useful each skill is.

Again, I don't PvP much, so I chose Windwalker because I heard that they can mob better in PvE in the long run. I'm not entirely sure about that though, I tried watching some YouTube videos, but most of the kDN/cDN videos seem to take forever to load. From what little I've seen, I don't see much difference in the long run aside from the ultimates.

Here's my current Level 32 build for reference.

http://dnarmory.com/skill-calc?c=2&sc=15&tc=32&ll=32#jk4t_9l48zRWMLTh

My two main concerns are:
- Is Counter Ring Shot ever used in PvE? It sounds like a PvP skill, but I'm not sure if Acrobats are actually going to get hit in mid-air in PvE.
- Is Kick Shot EX worth getting? Or is the SP cost not worth it in comparison to getting points into all the other 2nd job skills?

Original Dragon Nest Thread - Holypie - 2011-11-06

Always get EX skills. Also in nests you would get hit in mid air a lot, but I'm not exactly sure on the mechanics of counter ring shot.

Kick Shot Ex is for Tempests. Cyclone Kick is for Wind Walker. PvP people generally do not get EX skills, but a PvE WW generally gets Cyclone Kick EX because the cd reduction from IT'S SHOWTIME makes everything happy happy fun fun.

And I've used Counter Ring Shot a couple of times. My acro is sort of stuck at lvl 30 'cause I've lost interest in playing until we get lvl 40 cap.

When is the level 40 cap planned for us? If it is already, that is. Looking forward to the sp reset I've heard we get with it, so I can go pure ice + lvl 1 fireball and flame spark.

Original Dragon Nest Thread - Shippo the Fox - 2011-11-06

I'm expecting no later than February for 40 Cap and thats if they really stretch it out.

Also, the SP I'm absolutely sure of is supposed to come at 45 when you can job change.

what's everyone's opinion on moonlord vs gladiator for PvP and PvE?

Ah, thanks for the help. Yeah, I guess I really don't need to max Twin Shot either, as it is kind of a PvP skill. Maybe I'll dump points into it at the 50 cap or something.

Oh god why am I missing 1 point in Tumble *fixes*

I guess this is my new 32 build.

http://dnarmory.com/skill-calc?c=2&sc=15&tc=32&ll=32#jk4utSe4-zzx2IHr

And I guess planning ahead to 50. Although this is assuming that we get the free SP reset at 45. Otherwise, I gotta deal with having Wisdom of the Owl.

I saw Superb Frozen Spikes for 1k gold, and I have 1.1k. But then again, the skill is weaker than icy shards, and I bought that one for 350 gold.
Soo...I guess I'll wait.

Max Chain Tumble with CD reduction plate is more for PvPers. Lvl 5 with CD reduction will be about the same as lvl 8. Eagle Dive is also a nice skill ― I usually see most people with at least lvl 4.

And I just noticed I called Spiral Kick that Cyclone Kick thing. Shh, I haven't played in a while. xd

Frozen spikes lasts longer than icy shards Lol.

Original Dragon Nest Thread - Alilatias - 2011-11-07

Yeah, I need to research on skill plates as well.

After some thinking, I'm leaning towards these at the moment:
- Furious Winds (50% animation speed)
- Quake Barrage (-12% cooldown) or Cyclone Kick (20% damage)
- Eagle Dive (20% damage) or Cyclone Kick (20% damage)
- Chain Tumble (-20% cooldown)

I noticed how you opted to leave Spiritual Focus at 2 while maxing Cyclone Kick. Is Cyclone Kick really that good? I guess I'll see for myself once I get to the 32 cap. I could shift some points away from Chain Tumble and into Cyclone Kick.

I noticed that while you have level 6 Eagle Dive, the difference between level 3 and level 6 is about 5% damage + 200 damage, which doesn't seem like a lot to me. In which case, I'm probably better off getting the damage plate.

Virtually the same if you're going hybrid, however Gladiator is far more powerful because it uses Physical Damage instead of Magic Damage. Magic Damage doesn't increase as much as Physical for a Swordsman, and your weapons will always enhance for far more Physical than Magical.

Huh? I really don't understand how frozen is better, even though I know it is. Icy is stronger and launches enemies so I can combo right after, and frozen is weaker and has larger range. But frozen has never actually been useful for me.

One's better for mobs and the other for bosses. You could get less Cyclone Kick for something else you like. I haven't tried the skill yet myself, but it feels like my kind of thing from watching videos.

'tis the beauty of Acros. While Sharpies have rather cookie-cutter builds, Acro builds are usually quite different. Like how Somersault Dance is quite popular with PvErs but it's not my cup of tea.

Original Dragon Nest Thread - EarthAdept2 - 2011-11-07

Frozen spikes is a DoT. It's like toxic spray that lasts shorter but is a lot stronger. Icy shards hits like what, 4 times? Frozen spikes hits like 6-7? I don't really check since I always use it in conjunction with something else. I simply don't find the casting time and the kind of damage it does to make it useful for me.

That build is almost exactly the same as mine except

- 4 chain tumble for 6 spiritual focus
- Lowered twin shot since I don't use it that often. Put level 2 showtime just because there's no real other good spots for points

My 4 plates are

- furious winds: animation
- cyclone kick: damage
- somersault dance: damage. This is more or less filler and I'll prolly swap this out for rising storm or a new skill that's introduced 51+
- spiral kick: damage

Finally got around playing again but i was curious. What are some of the better dungeons after 27? For faster lving that is. I kind of want to be 31 for my lv 30 nx set and lv 31 gear i bought.

Paladin btw if it helps.
