Hyrule Warriors - Dark Link - 2014-09-27

Apparently the game can still lock up / freeze even after the bugfix. Just had it happen TWICE at the 4th stage while fighting the boss.
Game's hella enjoyable otherwise.

Anyone know of a walkthrough for Adventure mode? I'm seeing a lot of 'requires search', but I haven't the damnedest clue on what to use where

Screw Ridley, Ice Climbers and Lucas... Lana for Smash Wii U.

Gets beat up for saying it

There's no walkthroughs, but from what I'm told the secrets are all hidden in the same places they were in the original NES zelda, so just look up a revealed map like this one
http://tartarus.rpgclassics.com/zelda1/1stquest/images/overworld/lowbandwidth/gridmaplowyes.gif

where all the bushes/walls/etc are burned/bombed already and you should be able to work out most of them.

I can't check as a result of still not owning the game (though I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little tempted),so this might not be useful at all .

Yep, I'll beat you up for saying it, generic anime girl would be one of the worst choices for smash. If they wasted a new zelda rep on a goddamn spin off character over groose/impa/midna/ a ridiculous number of better character choices...

I've been playing it constantly since I got it and have not encountered a single freeze or any frame rate problems. Notably though since Americans got the game I've been hearing them complaining of freezing and framerate issues. I'm wondering if there is something wrong with the US copies?

Anyway I was playing co-op with my friend last night. It's a lot of fun! the game did slow down a tad and the graphics got slightly worse, but it was barely noticable while we were playing. And the fun juggling of enemies and objectives made me not really care.

I hope there is eventually an online mode patched in. 2 people duking it out with their own armies and allies would be pretty damn cool.

The problems are becoming more apparent due to a larger audience having access to the game now. From what I've read, the freezing is a rather rare occurrence, but Chapters 4 and 15 apparently have an above average chance to kill the game.

I've had no issues with the game otherwise.

Some of the secrets match up, but they added new items such as the hookshot, water bombs, the harp,etc... so there's a lot of new secrets as well.

That being said though, the hookshot, water bombs, harp, recorder, ice arrows, raft and digging mitts are all incredibly obvious about where to use them.

I've also observed the game freezing after the second mission in the Twilight Palace. As soon as the mission was over, it faded to a black screen and got stuck there. Needless to say, I had to replay the mission. It sucked, but whatever.

That's the only freeze I've come across, so it's not too bad. I am, however, experiencing a significant frame rate drop when playing cooperatively with my room mate. The game runs perfectly when playing solo, but when I let my room mate join, it looks like the frame rate drops from 60 to 30~40ish. It's still 100% playable, but it's very noticeable.

I'm very much enjoying the game otherwise. This is for sure the best Zelda spin-off game I've played.

You know what my favorite thing about this is? The announcer pronounces the names of everything correctly. Now I can show my friends/room mates that I was correct with the pronunciations all along. Tongue

Link is so fabulous!
I just tried this glitch and it actually does work! you seem to have to be on a level with Link, Zelda, Impa or Lana (any character with multiple weapons) and it has to be on a level where they are restricted to using a certain weapon (so only in Adventure Mode)

I used Link with the Wind Waker Big Grin
Impa totally glitches out using the Gauntlets. She looks awesome using the Fire Rod though.
Lana looks totally awesome using the Wind Waker, though her eyes become quite scary.

Hyrule Warriors - Raph589 - 2014-09-30

Got my game today. It's great, even more than I expected! My Sheik is OP as hell since I almost ony played her up to now.

Hyrule Warriors - Dark Link - 2014-09-30

Started up the "Evil Arc" before calling it a night. Ganondorf's 5th Combo attack is freaking insane. Easily able to achieve 50-100 kills with one use of it.

Hyrule Warriors - Razmos - 2014-09-30

Well holy pomegranate, Japan just got the first DLC pack, and it is crazy.

- The 3 new playable villains, along with a new scenario which apparently has 5 levels.
- A new adventure mode map, just as big as the first one (which i'm still not done with completely yet)
- The new map includes new heart pieces, new skulltulas and level 2 and 3 weapons for the villains
- Possibly level 4 weapons for all characters
- Unlockable costumes in Adventure Mode
- Epona weapon for Link
- New costumes for Lana and Cia (possibly spoilers in those links)
- Cia also has Maskless and Hatless costumes

Gameplay videos of Cia, Volga and Wizzro:
 Spoiler

I'm guessing new Skulltulas also means a new illustration, a new or expanded Rewards map and a new reward for completing the illustration.

That is a LOT of extra content. and that is just the first pack.
New map:
All of the T-shirt symbols are costumes. holy crap.

The "Master Quest" Adventure Map is a more challenging map than the original, with added restrictions like not being able to heal, or not being able to use items.

Double posting due to the 3 video limit.

Link's Epona weapon:

I also replaced the videos in the last post with better ones.

I like Epona's moveset. Shame that it is another Light element weapon though.

The force of Kawai is strong in Lana... respect the force of Kawai.

I was halfway joking, I am aware there are better candidates for another Zelda representative in smash Wii U, (If Midna wasn't already a trophy I would be rooting for her) but I do hope Lana becomes popular enough from this game to become a canon character in the next Zelda game.

Hyrule Warriors - Zerard - 2014-09-30

Even though it's unlikely, I'd very much like to see Ravio as a dlc character. Now that'd be a funny joke character.

Hyrule Warriors - Lozmaster - 2014-09-30

In summary: weeaboos.

Aren't the remaining DLC packs with characters "Twilight princess" (1 new character) and "majoras mask" (2 new characters)?

The majoras mask choices no doubt include Skull kid with majoras mask (or just the mask with it's own body) and probably Kafei or Deku link (already have a zora and goron playable), or Tingle.

Twilight princess is a hard guess for another character: after agitha, it could be virtually anyone, King Bulbin or the Yetis would be good choices though

Hyrule Warriors - Razmos - 2014-09-30

As much as I love Cia, Volga and Wizzro being available for free, they might as well not be. All of their heart pieces/heart containers and level 2/3 weapons are only available through the DLC adventure map. They are more like teasers than anything.

Hyrule Warriors - Razmos - 2014-10-16

Free update (Cia, Volga, Wizzro, option to turn off adventure mode character intro cutscenes) is now live, as well as the first DLC pack.

There is also a "stability update" included in the changelog, probably fixing some frame rate or freezing issues.
