Well I didn't expect the end but it opens for more opportunities in Book 3.

Is Korra still the last avatar? It felt like they quickly wrapped it up to cut the show completely but there is going to be a Season 3, no? Also wtp did Jinora do lol that was the most vague scene ever.

I'm pretty sure reconnecting to Ravah basically restarted the Avatar State. She's basically Wan again, no past lives to draw experiences or power from.

A random appearance of an unmentioned species wasn't nearly like this. Especially since in Aang's story they tended to introduce random animal combos that you'd never thought of before on a regular basis. The only trippy part of TLA's ending was the Spirit Bending to give Aang a way to end the war without killing Ozai, because it was a kid's show and we can't kill in a kid's show.

Firstly, I'm surprised Bolin remembered how to Earthbend. Seriously, what did he do this season outside of the finale? Absolutely nothing. His plot was a complete and utter waste of time. All it did in the very end was give them a single boat, that they barely even used. All of the Varrac, Bolin, Mako, and Asami plotlines wasted EPISODES of time. It was all worthless. It was barely amusing in very small doses, but overall it was awful comic relief as well.

That aside....Honestly, I'm not sure I liked the direction they went with this season's main plotline. There was far too many ridiculous and "out-of-character" situations for the show itself. Just the whole giant dark spirit Vaatu vs giant Korra spirit was a tad ridiculous. Plus, the whole thing with Ravah being sucked out of Korra was ridiculous as well. It completely failed at suspension of disbelief, at least for me. The only thing that can combine Ravah/Vaatu and a human is the magnificent power of the Harmonic Convergence combined with the spirit portals. Yet, for no reason at all, Vaatu was able to rip Ravah out of Korra. I literally said, "What?" multiple times while watching these last four episodes. It was never explained at all. It just happened, and we were supposed to buy it after they went through incredible lengths to explain that Ravah and the Avatar were bonded together forever and ever and there was no way to break that bond.

Also, what was the Jinora thing about? Why didn't they go over that at all? They could have ripped out half the Nuptuk storyline and given us an entire episode that explained that sh'it. I understand that there's two more seasons that they have to make, but this ending alone (spirit world and human world combined), without all the other ridiculousness, would have sufficed for an unlimited amount of future material. They've created so many questions for no reason at all. Most of these things will probably never be answered.

Above all of this dislike and annoyance at what they did at the end, I actually like the end result. I feel like having the Spirit World combined with the Human World again opens so many possibilities for what they could do. There's so much new material to explore. I just don't like how they got there at all. Most of it made no sense, at least to me. Maybe I have to re-watch all of it or something, because right now I really feel like I missed a lot, but I can't tell if it was intentional or not.

I think breaking the connection to the past avatars was a good idea, and Korra being newly Avatar-ized has potential to be interesting. It goes with what I was saying earlier, this season was just setting up the groundwork for the rest of Legend of Korra. A new world order, the Avatar line starting from scratch spiritually, possibly a new recurring villain, while it had a few plot holes and questionable pacing, you can't deny that it has set up future seasons really well.

My only complaint about the finale: Deus Ex Jinora. that is all

Though, when Rava was destroyed she appeared inside the Dark Avatar, so I'd imagine that Korra has part of Vaatu in her now, unless, like I said, the Dark Avatar has a cycle now.

Well, no. He pulled Rava out, but he killed her, it's not like he ate her or absorbed her or anything, he hit her until she died and then she faded away. When Korra was in the tree of time, she heard a flashback of Rava explaining to Wan that one can't exist without the other, they are completely bonded. Hence why Rava "respawned" inside of Vaatu.

Ok I really hope there isn't DARK avatars. Becoming the giants looks like avatar state and she purified him during avatar state so guess no dark avatar though there is no one in the Time Tree Prison though maybe it wasn't a prison to begin with... they should dwelve more into that. Also can just anyone go to the Time Tree now and like hax? . Jinora should clearly have been the fucking avatar. I think they really gave her too much strength. Maybe just maybe it's the airbending sub ability or some pomegranate. Better be explained next season. The first episode was like a complete waste with the fucking Varrick story line. THEY JUST PUT　him in fucking prison. They used comical relief to get the plot holes filled like with Bolin and the crazy peach. Happy the portals are still open. I'm wondering if Korra can still bend all four elements. The next book is called　earth. I liked that they actually broke off the relationship for now(we all know that by the end they'll run back to eachother). Korra can't connect to the old avatars. I'm thinking maybe their spirits are in the spirit world or something. I hope that the next seasons involve her trying to reconnect with the old avatars. Learning about Wan only to never hear from him again is shitty. 4 seasons of Aang and now we can't see him anymore. Korra I want to say that Korra is the failest avatar but Aang or any other avatar didn't have to deal with harmonic convergence pomegranate. Also the big bad was her uncle. I'm not really sure where the story can go from here... what else can go wrong? Unalaak is dead?right? Vaatu is but a mere trace of darkness. I doubt Varrick can pull some pomegranate out of his ass they all know he's a baddy now. Maybe they can go further with the Asami jealousy line????? but that was like season 1 pomegranate. Everything seems pretty fucking peaceful. Also IF the fucking president had helped them earlier none of this pomegranate would have gone down. like literally none of it. I litterally just thought of this. With the portal being open can Iroh, Ozai come back into the real world? Would going into the spirit world before your death make you able to live forever?
Overall whatever 7/10 with all the unanswered pomegranate.

She can, yes. shortly after losing Rava, but before she goes all giant she uses Airbending to jump up to the Tree of Time.

I'd imagine it was because she was born with Rava inside her, and so is naturally able to bend all 4 elements, unlike Wan who had to use Rava.

Just thought I should say that I don't know where I got the season 3 being earth from(I don't know really I think I pulled it out of my ass). And that I meant Zhao not Ozai.

You know we're all waiting for an Iroh/Zuko reunion. And also an Iroh/Iroh 2 moment.
