Nothing went as planned really. It may not necessarily end well. However, I've met a lot of cool people from the other servers, ie Jon/EroticViet.
So I wouldn't look at it as all bad :f6:

They can get rid of MTS, which means ending exploiters instant profit. It's not going to stop them from exploiting stuff.. honestly it's going to make it harder for Nexon to realize there's an exploit. What happens when an obvious dupe/exploit is out? They flood the MTS with their items, and everyone sees it and then countless threads/posts are made on MS forums and Nexon's forum.
Now it's all just going to be hidden from sight, and Nexon, until MTS reappears, unless Nexon some how finds people exploiting, because they actively check their game for bugs and holes. They'll just continue to sell their things in the black market for actual money.
It's a good move, but one that came months (almost a year) too late. It's a shame too, since they already lost most of their loyal user base. If this had come months ago, I might actually still be playing this game.

There's merit to this argument, the problem is that's what I believe nexon is trying to stop. Essentially they are exploiting the actual NX.

But is the demand still the same? That's the big deal, in my opinion. A lot of exploiters made it obvious for that very reason, instant profit. I feel like without that, it separates the serious exploiters vs gamers who want life easier. I don't think there is any change nexon can make to wipe off the attempts or even success' of future exploiting, but they can definitely make it more tedious to make the effort worthless. Even if there is an exploit, I believe the impact(market wise) would be even LESS of an impact because it's located in a single server rather then spread out to everything else. That's what I feel the change did. Yes it'll be harder to spot obvious exploits, but it'll be easier to control them, if they respond quickly if at all.

It's a late move, I agree, and the blackmarket will still fluctuate, however I feel like it's going to slow down the market in general because of the procedures/methods in order to actually obtain money/items. MTS was pretty convenient. Not only that but it'll isolate purchases in specific worlds that the items are in. No more world trading, so that alone will make an impact I believe.

don't forget the trusting issues, this change is really prone to slowing down sales of such gear for NX pretty hard.

In my mind the vast amount of people that would buy illegitimate items through MTS would have serious issues with the risks involved paying a hacker first; they can harbor nothing but hopes of seeing pixels delivered. The shear number of abusers this invite will be seriously hampering those that profit from all this.
If logic and Nexon finally found each other, this is a first step to isolate the problems down to server levels. Clean out one and you know that server is done when you start working on the next. Rinse and repeat on a regular basis and the issues are contained. At least compared to what we have seen the last year or so.

Oh goodie, removing 300-600 attack illegitimately enhanced weapons after 3 years.
Those were massively damaging, and the only, ONLY reason they were removed is because they were being sold off for 5-11k in THE MTS.
If they had remained non mtsable after the world transfer glitch, I can assure you they'd be here.

it's well known that haha and lol are nothing more than a smirk on the face now, it's why ALOL exists.
i know some survived the onslaught, along with red katanas and i'm sure at least one blood dagger and craven are alive somewhere, the point is that, for the first time in years nexon is actually doing something, why should i bother trying to reach levels of power not worth the money, when nexon has been grabbing them, and bringing them closer and closer to MY level with the latest patches? i'll just wait until they're weak enough.
i doubt i'll ever outdamage them, nor do i really care about outdamaging them, but it still brings a little smile to my face when they get their just desserts.

That was umbrelling everything regarding that. There are like vouchers and stuff but it doesn't guarantee a safe transaction unfortunately.

Not to mention, even if you receive the goods, there's a nonzero chance Nexon will replace it with a clean one. And the higher that chance is, the less people will pay for the privilege of owning items that were never legit.
If getting rid of the MTS does mean there's no way to whitewash duped items by resetting their IDs, then good times are ahead.

This removal however is a step down.
