In a purist Mercedes playthrough where one hits 200, the following things are (at least to me) forbidden (and I've done a few, so I'm automatically impure):
-Any Masteria involvement whatsoever. Since all of Masteria avoided the Black Mage's Big Bang (not to mention Mercedes' storyline doesn't even involve Masteria whatsoever), this automatically means it is taboo in a purist Mercedes to involve yourself with this particular continent.*
-Any World Tour content. Technically speaking, World Tour exists in a realm that is disconnected and disjointed from Maple World, both genre-wise and storywise.
-Not fighting the Black Wings (especially Orca). Skipping the storyline means you're just using Mercedes as a mule to get her EXP buff, and treat her as an Explorer not worth your devotion save getting that buff from her.
*Note: I did the first, so I can't be a purist in that sense - though that makes me at the very least 2/3rds purist Mercedes.
Explorers are free to ignore the aforementioned conditions, as they really don't have to be tied to any one storyline anyways (even Explorers are fighting the Black Mage simply because, well, they can and they want to. They aren't obligated to by any means.).
LOL I'm completely pure then, and there is no way in hell I'm ever going to NLC. I have an embarrassing fear of Haunted Mansion.

Just about everything in Singapore and Malaysia gives more exp than the rest of the mobs their level. They don't give as much as they did prior to Big Bang, but it's still more than everything else.

The problem is the genre of the area, rather than the fact that it was hit by Big Bang. And let's get real here, the only reason that Singapore/Malaysia were even "hit" was out of a game mechanic reason than a story reason. Demand for training at those areas was exceedingly high, especially here in gMS (although Nexon should've realized Masteria was in that high demand training list). So realistically, a PURIST Mercedes would be sticking to areas she's canonically used to, which includes anything that's on the World Map theoretically. Masteria and World Tour areas don't have a World Map, nor are they really connected to Maple World anyways - Zipangu MIGHT be an exception, if it weren't for the fact that this only applies to jMS. And since Mercedes is a 100% kMS creation, we have to follow its formulas to TRULY be purist.
This of course, is for those that actually CARE about purist play. For those that don't, level wherever the hell you want.

I'm gonna come clean and say that I am only getting Mercedes for the buff. This class, in my opinion, isn't very fun at all. You have some mobility, yeah, and the DPS is nice, but the quest are too far apart and there isn't much skill variety to use(the first part I can deal with... the second one? not so much.). I'm gonna stick with maining my cannoneer for now... unless Demon Slayer wants to prove me wrong.

Wait... are you complaining about quests being too far apart while you main a class that has no quests at all?

I used to main an Aran before cannoneer, so I sort of expect quiet a few quest from the hero classes. Mercedes is just a let down compared to Aran's. That's all.

I thought that the fact that the drops there (save for galloperas) sucked was a fair counter balance.

Speaking of drops, our economy would be a lot healthier if everyone did stick to KMS content like this. Every time i do so i get nice scrolls and such and it gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside.
Level 90 here. Really enjoying the 3rd job setup... I find leaf tornados floor based damage range an annoyance though. I end up relying on Barrage more. The vertical range makes for hilarious mobbing.
Also, the attack buff from Ignis is. Well, even with my lv 60 bow, my STRless life got wayyyyyyy better.

Training at jesters is far from cheating. I remember Nexon saying somewhere that their high exp rate was intended. Something intended by the creators isn't cheating in my opinion.

He never implied cheating, he said going through a purist mentality, world tour and Masteria are off limits as they don't exist in canon (well masteria is debatable, but his reasoning for that is because it was somehow unaffected by the Big Bang.)
