Pitch hack - Corn - 2010-03-15 RIPGobies Wrote:Nexon just waited around, hoping to catch more people doing it instead of announcing an immediate Emergency Check. Really nasty. They continue to try to hide the fact that there was no glitch involved, they don't even announce anything. Back when NxJoeW and NxProse was working for Nexon, they knew about the bigfoot glitch, they made an announcement on the Maple Story header and the main site saying those abusing the glitch will get banned. These new idiots working for Nexon are trying to keep a squeeky clean image by not announcing pomegranate and they wait around too long to fix their pomegranate too. Or, we could go with the popular argument that Nexon simply didn't know about the dupe hack. Pitch hack - Fiel - 2010-03-15 RIPGobies Wrote:lol. A business works by committees. When they heard the news of what was happening in Maplestory, they likely had a meeting about it before acting on it. If they had just acted, that could royally screw things up with everyone going each and every way, which is something I'm sure none of us would want. It's in their best interest to keep Maplestory running stable with no huge and obvious hacks running around the game. I'm fairly sure their bottom line reflects the fact that they are doing an ok job. Pitch hack - Swerve - 2010-03-15 RIPGobies Wrote:You guys that are all happy that the glitch abusers and those that bought the scrolls got banned but one can't help but think how dirty Nexon is with the way they run business. No I am not a victim of getting banned but I do feel sorry for those that bought scrolls and got banned, I heard people with 2 chaos scrolls on their inventory got banned. JUST 2 CHAOS SCROLLS. I can care less about the hackers that abused the glitch, they deserved it though it could have been prevented had Nexon stepped it up much sooner. This comment +1. I'm going to make you a pie for how insightful this comment is into how things actually work. Oh wait, you don't want to wait for me to bake you the pie. Guess no pie for you. That argument makes no sense, how is it that their own members know more about the pomegranate that goes on in the game than they do? How long has disconnect hacks been out there yet Nexon can't do anything about it still? @Fiel Really, they needed a 16+ hour meeting to figure out what's going on? I seriously doubt that. They simply just don't act fast enough, they're clueless more than half of the day and the longer they wait the more damage gets done in game. I already had an idea what was going on a few minutes after I logged on yesterday morning. Pitch hack - TLX - 2010-03-15 Why are people saying it would be obvious when chaos were 5mil? No fucking pomegranate. But if they had been online before the hack was made public they would know that chaos prices were nowhere near 5m when the hack was private. They were 60-70m at a time when chaos scrolls were already declining rapidly. Also, the original hackers didn't ever sell stacks of 100. How the pineapple was anyone supposed to know it was a hack at that point? Pitch hack - Hendrix - 2010-03-15 loling a bit http://forum.nexon.net/MapleStory/forums/4432597/ShowThread.aspx fail game is a fail game Glitchs are exploited all the time and in Nexon case if you do it right you will never get caught, is sad they just show up when the issue is something REALLY big (sometimes they dont...), hacks, glitchs are there running free on game and the slow response of Nexon make the situation the way it is, glitch was there over 5 ~7 days, really take this long to shut server and fix? or is better just wait the game get fawked and then ban the "glitchers abusers" when the problem is already out of control? in the end no one is inocent, but Nexon had the power to stop the situation, and glitchers the power to abuse it. who has more power? There also needed to be a means to rid the game of all of the duped scrolls, find exactly what the exploit is, fix the exploit (which takes coding and time - neither of which are cheap), the means of creating a server check, the means of knowing exactly what to do during that server check so the game didn't crash afterwards, testing the exploit fix to make sure it works and doesn't have unintended consequences, recompiling the entire server, and suddenly having to figure out who on the staff is going to stay afterward to do this fix to the game. The devil is in the details. In your post, it was to my belief you said Nexon waited so they could catch more players. However, I object, as I proposed that Nexon just was being ignorant of the situation. Pitch hack - RIPGobies - 2010-03-15 If Chaos weren't MTS'able chances are they wouldn't have done pomegranate. Pitch hack - Corn - 2010-03-15 RIPGobies Wrote:If Chaos weren't MTS'able chances are they wouldn't have done pomegranate. Can't really assume. I cite past events when Nexon did stuff that only benefited one server only. Pitch hack - RIPGobies - 2010-03-15 I still don't agree with the way they do things. Just recently, remote hacks were out and Nexon announced this long server check and even sneaked in a patch to fix it.They don't announce anything, they just made a patch and hoped that people would stop talking about it after. It's just pathetic how they run their game. They do this days after people got their accounts stripped too, how long does it take for Nexon to catch up with the current events really, do they even monitor their game daily? And now I'm hearing that this glitch has been around for a few days not just yesterday. Pitch hack - Fiel - 2010-03-15 If I had to wager, I'd say that Nexon is not going to have an emergency server check to fix this. They'll likely let things continue and roll in the exploit fix with the patch that should (?) be coming out this week. Pitch hack - Chilly - 2010-03-15 Soo...should we now assume that all scrolls currently in the market are legitimate, because it is evident (or I guess it is by anecdotal evidence) that some Chaos scrolls escaped the shredder through that nefarious launderer Duey. Is he in league with Cody/the Black Magician, who knows? Back to topic, I'm looking at relatively cheap, 50% off scrolls in one stack of ten and since they managed to escape I really don't know if they are a low-leveled ignorance to prices or in fact illegitimate scrolls. Buy or not, ban or not? -_- Pitch hack - Lala - 2010-03-15 This is enough to where I think I might finally quit. I've played for 3 years and never used a hack. It's really frustrating when everyone around you is hacking and I spent hours at a mini dungeon to find a chaos, so when this happened I wanted to have some fun. I don't understand how a company can get away with this. They clearly had sloppy programming that enabled them to make hundreds of dollars off tax and banning accounts. I feel like I was almost set up by Nexon like they hold the cheap almost free chaos in front of your face wait till you take it then say oh no you weren't supposed to take it. Maplestory isn't the time to test morals, I just really hope they unban my level 173 nightlord which I built completely by myself legit. Teaches me not to trust a company like nexon that wants to do whatever it can to steal as much money from its players, and loyalty means nothing. I have enough crap in my every day life that this is supposed to be my fun, but aparently theres no fun in maplestory unless your a pro hacker. Pitch hack - SunnySis - 2010-03-15 what difference does it make if there are 500 listings by a hacker or 400 by a hacker and 100 buy legits reselling them. the legits do not contribute to the problem they just banned anyone with chaos listed in the mts Pitch hack - Corn - 2010-03-15 Lala Wrote:Teaches me not to trust a company like nexon that wants to do whatever it can to steal as much money from its players, and loyalty means nothing. So you being too stupid to put two and two together makes it Nexon's fault :f6: -Oh a sudden abundance of Chaos scrolls at an incredible cheap price *splurge*didn't think for a second it might be a problem or an issue or put any thought into the matter... Then again people tend to blame others before they blame themselves. Ah humanity... thou never ceases to be predictable
