GM Blog : Happy Holidays! - Five Second Pose - 2008-12-11 Happy Holidays everyone! Been a long and exciting year...Leafre, Ariant, Crimsonwood Keep, 4th Job, Showa, Pirates...we're happy that the community has enjoyed the updates thus far and we've already started preparations for an unbeliavle 2009. We'd just like to take a moment and thank you all. MapleStory wouldn't be here without you, the players. We haven't always done the best job of letting you know all this, and this is something we're going to change over the coming months. We will elevate our efforts to improve the game in every way to reward your loyalty and ensure that MapleStory remains one of the most successful games in the world. So, to celebrate all this, we've got a multitude of great Holiday Events! Lots of them. You'll see the posts soon enough, but we've got an all-new Holiday PQ (level-tiered), as well as Maplemas and Versalmas returning, as well as more Leveling Up events, and a new Christmas Event Monster just for the towns. Oh, and we can't forget about the Day of Darkness GM Summoning event...details coming soon! All of those are exciting, to be sure, but it wouldn't be complete without a new land. So, let's talk about alchemy. Alchemy, when used properly, has incredible benefits. When used for nefarious purposes, it becomes destructive. The all-new town of Magatia, located in the Nihal Desert portion of Ossyria, revolves around alchemy, dark science and those who pursue such research. We are excited to finally open this region, and encourage you to discover the mysteries that lie within! On a side note, for those interested in the future, NxProse suggests two things: 1) Those of you who are level-appropriate, finish your Masteria quests. ![]() 2) Pay close attention to the quest details within Magatia. That said, party hard during the holidays, and Happy Mapling! Magatia's coming out, with possible edits, and a Masteria expansion seems to be on the horizon. Also, NXProse is not fired. xD GM Blog : Happy Holidays! - Mashi - 2008-12-11 New PQs and Town Bosses? Oooooo... GM Blog : Happy Holidays! - FinalHeart - 2008-12-11 They acknowledged that they haven't been doing an incredible job??? *head explodes* GM Blog : Happy Holidays! - Mark - 2008-12-11 F'uck yeah, Magatia! F'uck yeah, Item Maker! F'uck yeah bloated Wallet! GM Blog : Happy Holidays! - Shippo the Fox - 2008-12-11 SCREW THE LEVELE TIER PQS! 120 + PQ please! Glad to see NXProse was acknowledged as still present too; he takes way too long of hiatuses from contact with the community- I almost died of fear when I found out his thread got closed at the beginning of '08 or the end of -'07 when -Hime- said he was gonna be gone a while, and that was indeed true! He came back seven months later; this recent break since August doesn't seem quite as shabby :f6: And glad to hear about Magatia and Crimsonwood Keep Part II! I thought that was slated for the beginning of next year after reading about them in Beckett's MMO Magazine, but this is MUCH better ![]() Hopefully I've got something to look forward to in Crimsonwood Keep Part II, and quite nearly as epic as the new standard raised by Neo Tokyo in terms of appearance and gameplay innovation. Also, is Maker a confirmed with Magatia? But last but not least, the great events, haha. I could up my quest count quite a bit, and this party quest sounds pretty fun for a guy like me who hasn't trained in months and not quite able to train like everyone else. But I'm not looking forward to something "unbeliavle"- I'd rather look forward to something "unbelievable" ; and it seems like their way of being able to get away with not delivering 2009 as "unbelievable".
GM Blog : Happy Holidays! - IsaacGS - 2008-12-11 I doubt Maker will be out in this patch. As I have said before, Maker was created 10 months after Magatia. It would be quite a shock if we got it so quickly when it's barely out in any versions. Betting the new town boss is that giant stocking from CMS:

Don't tell me its gonna be another "cake boss" GM Blog : Happy Holidays! - Five Second Pose - 2008-12-11 Quote:Oh, and we can't forget about the Day of Darkness GM Summoning event...details coming soon! I get the feeling this has something to do with Versal. Perhaps rogs and stuff, or maybe actual Versal monsters. xD GM Blog : Happy Holidays! - Icedfire - 2008-12-11 ndynslvr Wrote:Don't tell me its gonna be another "cake boss" on the contrary. i hope it is a cake boss. 50m hp doesn't seem like so much when you deal 3m+ dpm solo lol. *inserts whining from low levels* *whips low levels* fine, you kill it. f3. Also, Magatia PQ looks like it might not be coming or it has been edited... IsaacGS Wrote:The events aren't restricted to Happyville, of course. And if it's also any consolation, it'd appear CMS also has the Stray Ruldoph event from last year, it spawns in town also ( ) and you gotta catch it for Santa.
GM Blog : Happy Holidays! - Kirov - 2008-12-11 Hmm don't think there is anything new in the GM Blog. I guess we will get pretty much the same stuff as was seen in that CMS thread. GM Blog : Happy Holidays! - Corn - 2008-12-11 Hurray! A new Christmas party quest that probably all levels can go in! Leveling up events also caught my eye, but that might be the new EXP gachapon. GM Blog : Happy Holidays! - ItachiPower - 2008-12-11 Did I hear Holiday PQ? : :
GM Blog : Happy Holidays! - IsaacGS - 2008-12-11 The Schiff Wrote:Oh, it gets better.Rudolph can't hurt you though, can it? Either way, the two bosses are a lot more dangerous. Especially by having 2 of them... in a flat map like henesys, the boss can get anywhere, but in vertical towns like ellinia you can typically stand below/above where the boss would spawn and be safe. Not if there are two, though! Kirov Wrote:Hmm don't think there is anything new in the GM Blog. I guess we will get pretty much the same stuff as was seen in that CMS thread.CMS didn't have a PQ... O_o GM Blog : Happy Holidays! - ZachAttack - 2008-12-11 Well, this was unexpected o_o GM Blog : Happy Holidays! - Kirov - 2008-12-11 IsaacGS Wrote:CMS didn't have a PQ... O_o Oh? I thought these screens were from a PQ, and the recolored Orbis sprite was the exit/entrance NPC.
Spoiler
Oh well then i guess this PQ well be something new and interesting to see. ![]() Though it will probably give an item that expires in a week as a reward... GM Blog : Happy Holidays! - Corn - 2008-12-11 Kirov Wrote:Oh?That's the new Happyville. They remodeled it again. GM Blog : Happy Holidays! - GMSInfighter - 2008-12-11 Yay more stuff. At least they openly admitted that they weren't doing such a dandy job with the community, but I guess there going to try and make it better with more events ![]() Christmas time<3
