What you remember from 9/11? - GMSInfighter - 2011-09-09

The 10th anniversary of the tragic day is coming up and well I just wanted to know if anyone had anything they wanted to say about the day it happened if they had anything at all.

It was really big to me because of a friend that was flying and was almost shot down due to the orders that were given to land but the pilot was paranoid about doing so and therefore almost resulted in the loss of many innocent lives and that always frightened me about that day. Other than that, my heart goes out to those that were directly affected by it by means of family or friends..

I was in the hospital having an ultrasound done on my nuts when it happened.

My mom was driving me to school, and when we reached my elementary school I saw a ton of people freaking out and panicing, I was scared as hell because I didn't understand what was happening back then. I do remember seeing friends who were mourning since they lost loved ones that day, and my heart goes out to them and everyone else who was affected by the attacks.

I was 4.
I don't remember it.
Essentially, I don't remember a pre-9/11 world.

- Came home from school
- Turned on TV, 5 minutes later they interrupted the news telling a small plane crashed into some building in New York
- Switched to CNN
- Saw a lot of smoke from some tower (didn't know what the Twin Towers were at that time)
- For some minutes there was some chatting on how a small plane could have flew there in New York, etc
- Then suddenly while watching live broadcast a large plane flew through the screen with high speed

- Me: wtp is that

- Plane crashed into the other tower

- Me: ...

- Me: No...

- Me: Wht...

And then it all started...

What you remember from 9/11? - Solarboy - 2011-09-09

All I remember was me being terrified, because the way I understood it was: "Every single building is being airplane'd" so I was completely hysterical until my dad calmed me down.
I guess I felt a tiny bit of that panic and suffering everyone there did.

Can't believe it's been ten years...

While getting ready for school, my mom called me from work and told me about the first tower. She told me not to mention it to anyone at school. Of course, people were talking about it at the bus stop & at school.

After school, my mom tried to get in touch with my grandfather which took a while. He was supposed to be on a train under the towers when they came down - but he was running late.

So theres something going on, on the news about the people behind 9/11. That they're planning a new attack?

What you remember from 9/11? - Mark - 2011-09-09

I was 14. I didn't go to school that day because I had a doctor's appointment. I remember hearing about the first plane hitting the tower while in the car with my mom. I thought it was an accident like many other people probably did. They never stated what kind of plane it was. At any rate, I got my physical over with and shortly after I left we heard that a second plane had hit the other tower. That is when I knew sh[Image: lol.jpg]it got real.

We turned on the TV when we got home and sure enough those buildings were burning pretty bad. I remember watching them collapse on the news. I later found out that they sent everyone from my school home early, so I went to go hang out with my cousin.

Yup.

I guess I have another perception since I'm not from USA. But I do remember the day, I was 9 and I was getting home from school for lunch and my grandma was watching the news, then moments after my mom got home we watched the second plane live on TV, we were pretty shocked.

One of my mother's sister's husband's son (that sounds confusing, the son of the husband of my mother's sister.) was supposed to be on that plane but he fell asleep and missed the flight. (My Aunt lives in Boston).

I woke up exactly one minute before it happened, and my parents were watching TV at the time. Interesting both because I had woken up earlier than I ever had before and because my parents had never watched TV in the morning before.
I remember nearly everything from that day because I knew it was going to be something I would want to look back on in the future.

I was 8 by that time and I remember that day. Seeing the two towers collapse was pretty shocking. I felt sorry for all those families, and now with many people trying to do stuff at the 10th anniversary... just no. <.<

Good luck, Uniteds :/

I was in 6th grade and we we're just changing classes. I walked across the hall from history to my Science class with Mr Rossomando, and he was just staring at the TV he had on with his hand on his face in total terror. Took me a while to figure out what was going on.

What you remember from 9/11? - Alex123123 - 2011-09-09

I thought it was a movie when I saw the plane crashing on TV. Then I saw the local news anchor and I went wtp. I believe at that moment only the first tower had been attacked.

Then I went to school and the teacher brought a TV after the second tower crash. We pretty much stayed at school watching the whole situation unfold until the afternoon classes.

What you remember from 9/11? - Birdie - 2011-09-09

7th grade in art class. We had the radio on and heard it go from being a small recreational plane to finding out it was an attack. Lots of kids were pulled out of school and after school stuff was cancel, we had a football game scheduled for that night. I don't remember anything else happening at school other than small updates every hour or so. I do remember coming home and my mom was watching it on tv and seeing people jump out the windows. Thats when I knew I had seen enough and just tried to forget/ignore it for the time being.

I was in 2nd grade and I just remember horror. I remember seeing on the TV the first plane and just hearing "oh it was an accident" from my teacher. Then they told us to all go home that there was an attack on the nation. It was just terror. I remember watching as the towers collapsed and it was just hard to swallow really. I mean even that young, I didn't understand it fully but I knew enough to know something was wrong that somethings happening. Also my friends uncle was one of the heroes of flight 93
