The ACT - Zelkova - 2011-05-06

Ok I removed it now.

The ACT - Mike - 2011-05-06

I got a 29 on my first try. I wanted a 30+...

I hate testing.

The ACT - Zelkova - 2011-05-06

Yeah this was my first try. I wasnt expecting too high, and am happy with what I got.

The ACT - Kurtle - 2011-05-06

If that makes you happy that makes you happy. I got a 28 then a 29 and decided that was good enough, all it serves as is a base requirement for some colleges and scholarships so it isn't overly important.

The ACT - Mike - 2011-05-06

Oh yeah, forgot to say: congrats!!!

The ACT - Zelkova - 2011-05-06

<< *feels like pomegranate now*

I was mostly hoping just not to bomb the test....

The ACT - Hazzy - 2011-05-06

Congrats dude! You did better than 85% of test takers, don't let the Southperry Nerds get you down.

The ACT - WillDaSnail - 2011-05-06

You could do better, but this will do very nicely for you, given how this was your first time taking it without extensive preparation.

The ACT - Chilly - 2011-05-06

You ought to take is again, I found that my first time was more of an acclimation test. Without any additional studying or extra book learnin' I got 5 additional points the second time around. I just hope that the same phenomenon occurs for my MCAT (-scored abysmally-).

First and only time I ever took it.

The ACT - Cyadd - 2011-05-06

>34

Take it multiple times. You can always get better and they only take your highest. Do it at least 3. I know it's a bunch of money, but it's worth it if you get 1 point higher. I only took it once, but I wish I could go back in time and do it again at least once more.

The ACT - WillDaSnail - 2011-05-06

> 33.

Took it multiple times, though. Nuff said.

The ACT - Hazzy - 2011-05-06

"HEYGUISE, so glad I didn't fail this test!"

Almost every reply so far: "Your score sucks, take it over"

Nice job guys.

What constitutes failing? There isn't anything bad for getting a zero. In fact, one might say that getting a zero is commendable, similar to a 36. I believe the grade based on random guessing is a 13, whether or not there is truth to this, I do not know. If you got a 0, then, you must have either known what the correct answers were and purposely done them incorrectly or just really, really bad guessing. I'd actually lean more towards knowing each answer and answering incorrectly.

Also, I'm not saying his scores suck, I'm just telling him, for the best possible results, take it repeatedly. It would be difficult getting in to a good engineering program or an Ivy League school.

The ACT - Hazzy - 2011-05-06

"Failing" the ACT, in my book, is when you get a score that your schools won't accept. 19 and 21 are the usual cut offs, from what I've seen.

In another thread I think he said he already got into Arizona State.

The ACT - Locked - 2011-05-07

Got a 34 lol.

Grats on your ACT, I assume it was pretty tiring? Personally it wasn't but, whatever.

The ACT - NoJobNoRules - 2011-05-07

I got a 26 the first time I took it. I raised to a 29 and then a 33 after two more tries - I strongly suggest taking it again, as it can't hurt you (and raising my score from 29 to 33 got me another $15-20k in scholarship money - might do the same for you).
