Do you know what Pando Media Booster really is? - Satellite - 2011-01-09 http://www.dasfox.com/blog/post/What-is-Pando-Media-Booster-%28Pandoexe%29.aspx Basically Nexon is stealing your internet, by sharing their files with their users, sometimes without users knowing about it. Thanks go to GaleBreaker of basilmarket for finding this link. This is the most useful advice I have read from Basilmarket, because my internet, not just maple, WHOLE INTERNET is way faster now. This may or may not solve lag issues at Zakum and such. Note: If you haven't downloaded MS Client using the booster, then you won't have it. But note that if you play League of Legends and such games, you should check if those guys have installed it to your computer. Do you know what Pando Media Booster really is? - madanthony - 2011-01-09 I spotted LoL installing it. And now I've uninstalled it. ಠ_ಠ Do you know what Pando Media Booster really is? - Solarboy - 2011-01-09 Wow. I mean, really wow. My internet coenction is WAY faster, those pando guys. Do you know what Pando Media Booster really is? - -Ghost- - 2011-01-09 Gamers usually know about Pandoleech and avoid it always. Normally when a game is new and they only offer one kind of download for it, if it's Pando the players will demand a mirror be put up -pronto- so they don't have to install it. Do you know what Pando Media Booster really is? - Muppy - 2011-01-09 I did search about it on Google while checking installed programs here on my PC but didn't find anything saying that it was bad. That was a long time ago, also. ![]() Uninstalled.

Do you know what Pando Media Booster really is? - Shidoshi - 2011-01-09 Wow, uninstalled that. Nice stuff. Do you know what Pando Media Booster really is? - Herbert Jablonski - 2011-01-09 Yes, I do know about Pando. Do you know what Pando Media Booster really is? - Tigeon - 2011-01-09 Those frken bast@rds..... Faster indeed... Do you know what Pando Media Booster really is? - Satellite - 2011-01-09 Quote:The Pando Media Booster is a tiny (2MB) UI-less client that enables you to cost effectively stream full-screen HD video by leveraging your viewer's collective spare bandwidth. Running as a secure transparent background service on your viewer's computer, the Media Booster optimizes video streams by intelligently streaming your videos from multiple sources; your CDN servers as well as the computer's of other viewers ("Peer Cloud") ![]() I wonder why my Youtube videos run faster after uninstalling it though... Do you know what Pando Media Booster really is? - rayhovite - 2011-01-09 Knew about it loooong time ago because my ping was not at its normal stable 50 when I would whoop on scrubs in my fave FPS games. Do you know what Pando Media Booster really is? - Jamie_Kurosawa - 2011-01-09 Pando does the same thing BitTorrent (and it's many clones) does. And yes, many of us have known about it for a long time. You can easily disable it in the System Startup Options and not have to worry about it. As for what the "reporter" says, I wouldn't classify it as Malware. Most ISPs that do throttle based service, like satellite based DSL service often are noted for, do NOT charge you for extra bandwidth, but instead LIMIT how much bandwidth you have if you go over your allocated usage rate for the time frame. In fact NO Broadband, DSL, or Satellite provider does this business practice. The only one's who do charge for this service are those who are Cell Phone based 3G/4G services where you have a service plan with limited internet. This topic is nothing but a scare tactic with bad information, mostly if anything at all, a biased reporter who doesn't understand Peer-to-Peer client connection services. In fact upon installation Pando (and if you read Pando's license) actually says it's a P2P client. And NO, Nexon ISN'T stealing your internet. You agreed to the service when you clicked the AGREE button at the License page of the installation. And, NO, this won't fix Zakum. In fact upon installation Pando (and if you read Pando's license) actually says it's a P2P client. It's not a peer to peer client. A peer to peer client gives you control over what you share, when you share and in some cases even who you share with. Pando is closer to a legalized trojan opening your machine to sharing anything it deems fit with anyone it chooses entirely invisibly to you and often without you having any other choice but to use it to install whatever company has made an exclusive agreement with them to only offer their product installation via Pando. Don't report threads expecting them to be closed because they have a different opinion than you do, that is not what reporting is for. Do you know what Pando Media Booster really is? - Anonymous Moose - 2011-01-09 As far as I'm concerned, I want to be in full control of my computer, and I dont want programs like this one leeching off of my computer and internet service. Unless someone can post a good reason to keep Pando, its off of my computer. Do you know what Pando Media Booster really is? - Atuan - 2011-01-09 I have no clue how all of you were duped into installing Pando. Its function is painfully clear the moment you install the damned thing. Plus, there is a direct download link right under the Pando button. Do you know what Pando Media Booster really is? - Maping - 2011-01-09 I didn't find it in Task Manager or by searching in the start menu, but I'm worried I might have it. I downloaded Maple normally (clicked download on the site). Anyway to make sure I don't have it?
