Try bossing. Pap supposedly gives good exp now.

The leveling just got worse... - Takebacker - 2010-12-10

Uh, yeah, bossing is supposed to be the big exp racker.

Good thing none of those bosses exist in KMS anyway. Biggrin

Besides, i think there will be a boss/mob update on the 20th with the resistance.

The leveling just got worse... - Worthyness - 2010-12-10

i think its the fact that they changed the HP: EXP ratio to extremes due to the potential system. more potential = more damage = needs moar HPs on monsters otherwise it's brokens.

if they upped the exp just a little bit, maybe it'll be worth time investment.

Whatever Goggleemoticon I'll just grind it out at Obliv 4... as soon as I get those dang quests done

Ive basically been saying this from the start; it's not any easier to train, as while we need less exp, monsters also give less exp, and have more hp. It's basically a large shuffle with the illusion of faster training.

As for pap, they moved the quests up to 120. I have no idea how I'll get a 2nd pap crack now =X

Jamie, come to Bera. I'll help you train. =)

No thanks. Windia is my stomping ground and my guild Ascended is like family to me.

The leveling just got worse... - knlbr - 2010-12-10

it's supposed to be better when lionheart castle comes out, but seriously, having to wait on a single area to level past 140 is pretty shitty. nexon should have thought this out in advance before screwing high levels up the ass...

You forgot to point out that everyone lost percentages due to them removing the exp change from EXPlosion. At the lower levels I'm sure nobody cares, but when I logged in to see a chunk of my exp missing I knew that I pretty much lost quite a bit of training. If I had known that, I would have made sure to level and leave myself at 0%. After training at Bains for a bit, I got my exp back. I have to say it's faster than my 1x training at Skeles, but slower than my 2x training, which I always used when training anyway. I'm glad I don't have to pay for 2x exp anymore, but the whole reason I paid for it in the first place was to level at a fairly nice rate.

I was able to make 2 new characters to level 40 within 3 days, but my main has only really been able to gain 20%. Although, I will admit I probably have been giving more attention to my newer characters, since I want them at 3rd job before I slow down on training them.

Everyone shouldn't have to pay for a feature added that only the rich can really take advantage of.

Dark Wyverns aren't the best place for a Paladin, as they're element neutral. I'd try Brextons/Rextons (whichever are the ice weak ones) at least before claiming outright that BB sucks.

Also, 30%/hr at Skeles pre-BB, at level 145? Yeah, that's BS... I could get about 10%/hr and I'm using well-potentialed gear. Maybe 12% if I split the map with a fast killer. Unless you're comparing 3x+ rates to 1x rates, which is silly.

Nexon has always screwed over high levelers. That's nothing new. Before Neo-City was decided on we were asking for JMS's Neo-Tokyo because the enemies there gave the highest amounts of EXP on average of 10,000 EXP total per kill. Nearly 1.5x that of Time Temple and 2x that of Dragon Canyon and Ulu City. There were plenty of us that stated it was a better choice because it was engineered for people 140+ in level and even up til about 170 you could kill a single monster and still get 0.01% or better per kill. We as always were ignored becasue a few people kept saying as always like these quotes I've collected from Nexon's official forums, "Why bother catering to high levelers? They don't matter. None of the play except to boss hunt. Why should we give them there own area when people 2nd and 3rd job can't even go there?" And those are just some the the countless excuses I've heard to cripple, hinder, and screw over high levelers.

The funniest part is, when people get to Level 140, most of the time they switch from being the one crying not to have content, but to having content.

If we had gotten JMS's Neo-Tokyo, right now, for most people 140+ it would have been a total gold mine of EXP because only areas included in KMS got the complete rewrite and were not affected or were minimally affected making them easier but with the same EXP levels.

Currently one of the best monsters to hunt is Rurumo in Magatia. It has a few hundred thousand HP but yields Neo-Tokyo level EXP at 10,000 EXP estimated. One of those nets me at least 0.03% which is by far very nice. Imagine a full area of that available.

The problem finalizes as this... Nexon listens to new players and low levelers more than they listen to veteran players and high levelers. Plus, none of us make an effort to get what we want. If we did get a proper Neo-Tokyo addition with Big Bang adjustments and EXP levels to boot for high levelers and not a reflection of what JMS did get which nerfed their Neo-Tokyo, we could have an area worth going to.

Stereo, I did try those areas and got less EXP still. Even Red Wyverns which were closer to my level and Ice weak offered nothing better.

Go to Time Temple. EXP rates are not slower than they were before; they are definitely faster. The problem is, we no longer have access to 2x exp cards and 2x family rep. That's what's slowing you down, not the monsters themselves.

What makes you say that it's faster? I mean, O4 is probably the most clear cut case of "you are going to train slower here now" for a map post-BB. The monsters give almost the same exp and their HP was more than doubled. I'm not even at regret 4 and i can tell that i will kill chief regrets roughly as fast as i used to kill chief oblivions...so i doubt i will get more exp now. o.o I average 3HTK at mem 5, so at O4 i would say i will average 5HTK at best...i used to kill them in 3 hits. </3

The leveling just got worse... - Erich - 2010-12-10

All in all, you still will level faster if you do it right. Just the matter of doing it right is the question at hand. Neo Tokyo got so horribly mocked down on hp/exp ratios that the jap players say it is crap now. I don't believe that, because it was near broken ratios to begin with. But..

The exp is worth ~40% more because of the new levelling curve. Training speed is more limited by spawn than by damage, and everyone's damage went up a bit to compensate for the higher HP. Once I actually have a 100% hit rate at O4 I'll be 2-3hkoing with Paralyze + Teleport, and my damage isn't exactly spectacular, so I don't think I'll be killing much slower than non-mage classes were killing before.

The damage boost I got from BB I'm sure is more than enough to kill even faster post BB than pre BB for me.
