Magic crash details - Lumancer - 2010-12-08 So, a DrK friend of mine is debating between Magic Crash and Sacrifice at the moment. However, we're a little unclear on the exact details of Magic Crash, which would make a big difference on his decision. From what I saw earlier today at Targar and Scarlion, Magic Crash can't remove super defense or super magic defense from bosses. However, it was difficult to tell if the skill could prevent those buffs from being cast. Any thoughts on the skill? Magic crash details - ultimax21 - 2010-12-08 Was magic crash maxed when you guys tested it? If it doesn't cancel super def up then it can probably prevent it from being casted beforehand I suppose. Well, I'm not gonna be any help for a while because I can't even fight Pap, Zak, or HT without the game bugging out on me and crashing (probably due to the 1024 resolution feature). I couldn't even do mu lu dojo properly I think because the npc starting bugging on me and made my client crash. Worst yet, its so hard to log into this server so I'd fail in helping -sigh-. My hero does have max magic crash though so maybe eventually I could check this out... Magic crash details - Lumancer - 2010-12-09 The guy I was bossing with mostly spoke Italian, so I wasn't able to ask his skill level. I know Crash will kill super defense buffs on standard mobs, just confused about the mechanics with bosses. Magic crash details - MetaSeraphim - 2010-12-09 He could always leave ER at 0 and max MC. He doesn't have to sacrifice Sacrifice given that it is an insanely useful attacking skill at certain areas in the game. Magic crash details - Lumancer - 2010-12-09 True. But his mindset is something like, "Unless Magic Crash works on bosses, it's a waste of points", no matter where those points come from. So an accurate understanding of the skill would be very helpful. Magic crash details - Jamie_Kurosawa - 2010-12-09 Sacrifice now works a lot differently so basically getting a good hit with it won't kill you. It'll drain some HP for using it but the lethality is gone, or at least that's what a friend said... Magic Crash is okay... the Paladin version really doesn't work well and at 50% effectiveness and a recharge time of 60 seconds. It's not totally worth it IMO. Plus you can't use Magic Crash in a macro to combo it up with Threaten as well. Magic crash details - Resonance - 2010-12-09 Choose Sacrifice over Magic Crash. Sacrifice 1 is like the old max Roar in terms of HP burn even if it does do the same damage every level. Magic Crash doesn't work on Weapon/Magic Cancels, no (outside Monster Carnival and Chimera, there are regular monsters that can Cancel?). It works on other buffs a boss can cast (Damage Reflect? Maybe not =P). I don't know if it prevents Cancels from being cast, but it only lasts 20 seconds at max. Magic crash details - JoeTang - 2010-12-09 Resonance Wrote:Choose Sacrifice over Magic Crash. Test it on Bone Fish and Goby Houses. Magic crash details - Resonance - 2010-12-09 Oh I forgot about them! Magic crash details - ultimax21 - 2010-12-09 JoeTang Wrote:You can go test if it prevents Cancel in Aqua. Test it on Bone Fish and Goby Houses.Damn, I forgot about this and sent my hero to leafre D:. edit: Ok I finally tested magic crash, it does indeed seal the boss/mob from using super def ups. However, it doesn't cancel it. It does cancel the other buffs though as mentioned a few pots ago. I think this applies to reflects too being that it seals it from being casted for a while. So, grab 3 warriors with 100% magic crash and you can have it casted 24/7 and seal all buffs indefinitely. Pretty damn useful for bosses like HT that use def up too much and slow down your whole squad's DPM. Magic crash details - Jamie_Kurosawa - 2010-12-09 Hex is supposed to now stack with any other buff skill or potion as well as Berserk. Magic crash details - CarrionCrow - 2010-12-09 Hex should stack with blood, I'm fairly sure I tested this in Tespia. Let me get this straight, magic crash does not work on bosses super def/ m def? This we have hard proof on? Magic crash details - ultimax21 - 2010-12-09 Magic crash doesn't even work on bone fish in Aqua, it doesn't cancel but it seals it from ever using it at all. If you have 3 warriors with magic crash you cast 1 at the start and then follow up with the other 2 and finally the 1st person recasting again making sure bosses will never ever cast another buff again. This will help you cut your bossing time by 30% usage time if not 50% since bosses like HT loves to use those super def ups. It took my squad almost an hr just to take out the stupid 1st Chaos HT preliminary head in pre BB with only 8 attackers and most of them are only at an "ok" range nothing godlike at all. The super def ups are important to seal away, if you don't think so then I suppose you need some more experience in bossing runs. We used to prioritize canceling armor buffs for heroes or bishops back in 1st generation HT days when we were so much weaker back then with probably 1/4-1/8 of our current damage output/range now. The lower the defense the boss has the more the damage the rest of your party is gonna do to the boss. Pirates and expedition squads didn't even exist back then. edit: Oh and there's an icon debuff on the target after you cast magic crash its bright purple so its kind of easy to notice I guess. However, I'm not sure if other debuffs might block out the animation so this is important to consider. Use of Skype and the like should be useful here I suppose. Magic crash details - dpeterlin - 2010-12-09 Hex stacks with one other buff, considering db is 25 wattk it's a good one to stack hex with. So yes hex and db stack. The real question should be ER or Crash Sac should be maxed as it's our best option 1vs1 -- no more power is added but the hp difference is extreme. I haven't been able to test crash anywhere -- went to zak with the intention of testing it out and dc'd twice at arms Magic crash details - Resonance - 2010-12-09 I casted Blood on myself this morning and waited 5 minutes for it to cast level 1 Hex (6ATT) on me. It didn't but I did see a DEF stack today when I was doing Time Temple quests. Forget my previous post about the stacking - it does stack. I tested it again now. Although it stacks, it doesn't cast the buff if it already sees one better on you. If he really wanted both Sacrifice and MC, like Matt said he can do 11 ER, 11 Iron Body, 12 Ground Smash, 19 Mastery and max every other 1st-3rd job skill. Magic crash details - PeePeeAyeDeeKay - 2010-12-09 Hex's Attack, Phys. Def., and Magic Def. will stack. Accuracy and Avoid buffs however don't As for Magic Crash.. http://ellinforest.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10629 Steve of EllinForest Wrote:1) Yes, it works at zakum, but you have to use it BEFORE zakum uses physical defense up in order for it to work. This means that as soon as magic defense up ends, you should use magic crash. As for Magic Crash working on Damage Reflection, a guildmate of mine tested this & it seemed to work the same way as it would on Damage Invincibility. You'd have to cast Magic Crash before it uses Invincibility/Reflection. I haven't tested this myself yet however. My opinion though, I would pick Magic Crash to be level 20 and leave Elemental Resistance at 11 if in fact the above is confirmed true. Magic crash details - CarrionCrow - 2010-12-09 PeePeeAyeDeeKay Wrote:Hex's Attack, Phys. Def., and Magic Def. will stack. Accuracy and Avoid buffs however don't Totally. DrKs are unkillable with the new Berserk, ER is not a priority over a skill that when used correctly seems to be a godsend. Magic crash details - Kalovale - 2010-12-09 So what? Magic Crash now prevents Cancel [XXX] Attack, is XXX strictly Magic or the one that matters (Physical)? Magic crash details - CarrionCrow - 2010-12-09 Kalovale Wrote:So what? Magic crash details - Stereo - 2010-12-09 So, how do you best coordinate 3 warriors to effectively use Magic Crash? Is the icon on the monster visible while people are attacking the boss? |
