JMST is post-BB GMS - larmie - 2010-11-04 ![]() Found an untranslated message: "Something seems to be blocking its way." (So far there haven't been any Korean letters in-game except the PQ reward UI which suggests the client was first translated to English; JMS dev team is separate from GMS dev team so it's unlikely English "slipped in") The implication is GMS will end up more like JMS than KMS (monster books, world tour, 120 cube removed). It is possible that Neo Tokyo was translated. JMST is post-BB GMS - SwordStaker - 2010-11-04 larmie Wrote:JMST stole our BB?0.o Now I've seen it all.. JMST is post-BB GMS - larmie - 2010-11-04 SwordStaker Wrote:But then theres english Why would you need to translate Japanese into English, then back into Japanese? It would make sense if it's Korean --> English --> Japanese because more people speak English than Korean (same goes for all translations of MS). Neo Tokyo doesn't even exist in GMS so it's just ported directly from pre-BB (Kaede Castle maps are completely identical for example; one NPC was moved from the Castle map to outside the castle) JMST is post-BB GMS - aslemn - 2010-11-04 I still don't get the point of this. You first said JMS is post BB GMS, then you say that BB was originally in japanese and since JMS has things GMS doesn't, then it's not post BB GMS. I might not be understanding properly, but i can't see the point of this. . Big Bang was originally written in Korean, translated into English, and supposed to be retranslated into Japanese. Since Japanese, in this case, is way more based onto english due to foreign names. Big Bang isn't a Japanese creation, it's a korean. Unless you're misunderstanding SwordStaker, you need to check KMS from some months ago. . All translations from MS need to be like that. It's a bug actually, they forgot to retranslate that. It's way easier to go Korean > English > Japanese than Korean > Japanese. Since the structures are way different... . Also, larmie. There are LOTS of korean letters around JMST. But can you see them? No, unless you're in Korean codepage. Know all the ????? NPC's? It's the result of Korean letters being shown in JP codepage. There are shitloads of korean texts forgotten, the fact is that you can't see them in game. Unless you're in KR codepage, which is impossible since JMS NEEDS to be in JP codepage. . Still, i don't get what you're saying. JMST is post-BB GMS - SwordStaker - 2010-11-04 larmie Wrote:Why would you need to translate Japanese into English, then back into Japanese? Monster maps hardly changed after Big Bang mostly just the spawns were made better and more concentrated. Read what aslemn said. JMS has only a few things more than us one being Neo Tokyo which we're probably getting later this month. It's own form of China. Also possible for us to get, it's in our data. Thailand floating Market which I never saw any value in besides questing and exploration. The Taiwan maps which due to what NEXON said a couple months ago its probable we'll get that in our own form. If just Night Market then fine. Plus GMS has Haunted House our own version of CWK, NLC the complete MSEA world tour. So we're pretty even content wise if not better. If we get Neo Tokyo then all bets are off. JMST is post-BB GMS - larmie - 2010-11-04 SwordStaker Wrote:That was expected. GMS has the most content so translation KMS into GMS first, then into other languages like Chinese, Japanese and French makes more sense than finding Korean-Chinese, Korean-Japanese and Korean-French translators (who would charge more than English translators) aslemn Wrote:I still don't get the point of this. You first said JMS is post BB GMS, then you say that BB was originally in japanese and since JMS has things GMS doesn't, then it's not post BB GMS. BB refers to Core Blaze in JMS I thought he was referring to Neo Tokyo. Korean letters could be leftovers from Korean --> English translation. The English names are a separate issue; Koreans applied English names to their version which was mistransliterated into English. That was ported to JMS and other versions, resulting in "Kerning City" (instead of "Cunning City"); the mistransliteration could be seen in the Ellinia Ship Dock; the Greek letters for Kerning is completely messed up.

GMS has the most content so translation KMS into GMS first, then into other languages like Chinese, Japanese and French makes more sense than finding Korean-Chinese, Korean-Japanese and Korean-French translators (who would charge more than English translators) God, translations into english are not because GMS has the most content. It's because structures for all languages are easier to be translated when english to that language, and since english is the universal language. . Also, BB always meant Big Bang, it's the most obvious abreviation used here and even by maples. Although BB may mean Blaze Break, who refers to Core Blaze's quest, only a JMS player might understand that. It's not common sense, it's acquired knowledge through a little gameplay on JMS until you find that out from megaphones. JMST is post-BB GMS - SwordStaker - 2010-11-04 larmie Wrote:Exactly. I've never played any other version besides JMS; when I see BB, I think that giant immobile punching back that gives billions of exp. JMS players are having trouble how to abrreviate "Big Bang" English doesn't have the same structure as Japanese (it does with Chinese and German). It is, like you said, a universal language and more people speak it than Korean. JMST is post-BB GMS - aslemn - 2010-11-04 Well, just the fact you used BB on the thread title would grant that BB is refering to Big Bang, not Blaze Break. Much less the only JMS players in here are me and you. The rest would never know that BB would mean Blaze Break, because it's only in JMS, since in SEA, that also has it, they call it Core Blaze. . Did i say that the structure was the same? I said the structure was close, and easier to be compared. Or comparing Japanese and Korean is easier? . They translate into English because most languages can be easier compared to it. Regardless, i see no point on this discussion. Unless one of us works on the translation section of Nexon, there's no point on discussing this, because you actually can't prove what you are saying. But really, one phrase in English on the game doesn't mean JMS stole Big Bang from GMS. Again, in my opinion. Whatever. JMST is post-BB GMS - street - 2010-11-04 This thread title is misleading i was expecting a huge amount of proof. One line that is English? Come on now My 600 post yeeeea now on to 1k JMST is post-BB GMS - Jellyflower - 2010-11-04 It could just be a joint project. GMS translated and revamped some of their exclusive areas, while JMS did theirs. I actually liked the fact that GMS gets BB after JMS finalizes theirs since I really don't want any broken hp/exp ratios. No offense but I think Japanese programmers do a better job in properly adjusting and changing all the necessary aspects; GMS tends to overlook things way too often, it's sad when players anticipate bugs that are obvious (hammer glitch, exploits) and the programmers do nothing about it. Oh I don't doubt one bit, this is what exactly GMS is going to get, they can't be stupid enough to make their version when a working version and copypasta is right in front of them. I'm just saying, if they translated Korean into Japanese, where did English come from? And it's not even a Masteria map but Perion. Yeah post-BB sounds like post-Big Bang (post-Blaze Break doesn't make much sense) but BB on its own just makes me think Neo Tokyo. Sorry. street Wrote:This thread title is misleading i was expecting a huge amount of proof. One line that is English? Come on now I'm not high enough level to explore the entire Maple World. Once I find more evidence, this thread will be updated (i.e. other hidden portals). Be rest assured I will try my best to find traces of English in Neo Tokyo. JMST is post-BB GMS - aslemn - 2010-11-04 larmie Wrote:I'm just saying, if they translated Korean into Japanese, where did English come from? And it's not even a Masteria map but Perion. God... English came from the fact it's much easier to translate English onto Japanese than Korean. The same occurs with all other languages. It's easier. . Oh, and it's obligated to use only English on a Masteria Map? It's not because it's a map from GMS, that it means anything. English is ALWAYS used on such translations, no matter which map. That would be pretty random. (Let's translate Singapore from Chinese, although there is an english version of it on MSEA, but we should prefer the hardest way?. Let's translate Yuyuan Garden from Chinese, although there's already a version of it in english on THMS. Whatever? Yuyuan''s from china and we should use each language according to the places it came from?!). . Also... Again, the fact you used BB in the thread by yourself would lead you to misunderstand the abreviation you used before? I don't get that. . Still, i can't see this discussion going anywhere. JMST is post-BB GMS - ZakumSlaYers - 2010-11-04 Should be normal I guess. English as the language that's widely used, it can help JMS translators A LOT instead of korean > Japanese. You realize they aren't that dumb right. NEXON has been working on Big Bang for a while and they even said that all their dev teams work in one office together. It's only natural to see the exact exp:hp ratios that each version would want. You think JMS is perfect in programming? People say how wonderful other versions of MS are yet they have no proof other than what happens in our version. JMST is post-BB GMS - Dusk - 2010-11-04 The logic in this thread is confoundingly bad. JMS has English in it -> GMS will copy JMS? More like the other way around. Where did Neo Tokyo speculation come from? Good god am I tired of hearing about it.
