So I logged in today to find that 2 of my guild leader's characters, on the same account, are logged in. Of course he did it but it seems now that an account can be logged in twice either using 2 separate computers or 2 different user accounts on the same computer.
Let's say ID: MS user1 is logged in using character X, that same ID can be logged in on a different computer using character Y.
Any thoughts?

The "security risk", briefly mentioned by someone in one of those threads, is that now you can't protect yourself from (some types of) hacking by staying logged in.
Whether the risk is worth the increased convenience probably depends on personal circumstance.

Well if you log onto the same character that's already on, it'll let you know at the very least. This allows a better use of mules or giving yourself cpq wins much easier. Kinda like it, but I'm sure it'll get abused.

I don't really like the idea of it. I always thought my characters would be safe as long as I'm logged on but if someone was able to get access to my somehow, I can't really stop them from logging on my account as well... :/ Sure it has advantages but I don't think it's worth the risk.
I'll just play two accounts on two computers if I want to give CPQ wins xD

I suppose the downside is the concept of "logging in" is completely broken if two people can simultaneously log-in to the same account. It's like accessing your e-mail account from two different computers and reading a different piece of mail. I've never heard of a service that lets you do that because 1.) you're not allowed to share accounts and 2.) session log-ins will be impossible to manage if there's multiple sessions at the same time. Some game features like storage and NX is shared which could cause some conflicts.
There's probably a fundamental reason why you can log-in to two different accounts from the same computer but not the same account from two different computers.

I really hope they fix this soon. It's the exact opposite of what they should be doing after the hacking event earlier this year. What they need to do is make it so no one can ever log in. The only protection that's 100% is abstinence.

Yes, that's what they do sometimes. Hasn't seemed to prevent hacking at all. A lenient ban policy haven't done any good either, like JMS. It all comes down to how well you can block access from China.

if someone already has your account info I don't see how this is a problem. they have your info they will hack you when you get off. actually if your able to at least get on you can save the nx you have or the other person can get dc if you multi log on the char

I think they should allow multiple login on the same account, with the following safeguards:
- If it's the same IP as the already logged-in char, allow login automatically.
- If it's not the same IP, pop up a verification request on the first logged-in char's screen.
- If the verification request is denied or times out, allow the new login attempt to override by inputting birthday. This method will kick off the first logged-in char. (This is to be used to kick off a hacker that might have gotten on your account and is now blocking you from getting on it yourself, or a disconnected-but-Nexon-failed-to-detect-it instance).

This would be very nice, but I think Nexon would be waaay too lazy to implement all this.
In fact, this issue is likely due to lazy programming/troubleshooting. Instead of tracking down why logged-in status occasionally doesn't get cleared after someone d/c's, they just now ignore logged-in status. It's just luck for them (or more careful work by former programmers) that this does not allow item/meso/nx duping.
