Have you ever bought Pokemon Cards? - Zalfor - 2010-09-04 I for one have actually. Way back in like 1997 though. All they do is sit upstairs in a box with nobody to play with them. But really, my question is to all you other Poke fanatics, have you ever bought a few Pokemon cards? If so, do you play regularly? I'm way too old now to even think about playing with them, but hey, maybe when my kids grow up they can have some fun with em. Oh, and just for fun, I'll post this ancient piece of X-Play awesomeness: BILLYCHU! Have you ever bought Pokemon Cards? - Jon - 2010-09-04 I (or my parents, I suppose) bought me lots of Pokemon cards, back in the day. I tried actually playing it a few times and I just didn't enjoy it. Have you ever bought Pokemon Cards? - Worthyness - 2010-09-04 yeah i actually played rather well too even with crappy Pokemon cards (not shiny ) I really liked my gengar deck. 3 gengars are fricken AWESOME. Have you ever bought Pokemon Cards? - Corn - 2010-09-04 I used to buy them, and played them with a friend of mine...he cheated since he used over 50 (or was it 60?) cards in one deck :3. Have you ever bought Pokemon Cards? - CJScarlet - 2010-09-04 I did, quite a lot unfortunately. My goal back then was to get all of the 150 including the set doubles. I played the game a couple of times with a guy from school and enjoyed it, so when they started reclining again I decided to use the magic of a scanner and printer to create all those odd sets I had been working on so I could play again sometime if I got the chance. Then my little brother started getting interested in pokemon and we played a couple of games with the decks I made. Now I've sort of put the card game behind me, so I let him have the cards. I think he still uses them from time to time with his friends. Have you ever bought Pokemon Cards? - Solarboy - 2010-09-04 I have more than 200 cards, I had more but I lost them. So yeah, I did. Not anymore though, I can't find them anywhere. Have you ever bought Pokemon Cards? - MariettaRC - 2010-09-04 I had over 300 cards, half of them were bought. I saved up lunch money just to buy them. >_> Have you ever bought Pokemon Cards? - Zelkova - 2010-09-04 Back when i was in elementary school/middle school I used to run a... the closest thing you could call it would be a "card black market". I dealt thousands of Pokemon/Yugioh/Magic cards. Probably made a good 800 bucks or so over a few years + like 5000 cards. I got rid of the pokemon, most of the yugioh, and i have like 6000 magic cards now. Total price if i were to sell the Magic would probably be about 900-1300 bucks if i had to take a wild guess. I have some rare crap... I never spent a penny ^^ (Now i wonder... why i dont merch the fm <<) Have you ever bought Pokemon Cards? - Kaasoljoyyx - 2010-09-04 ClawofBeta Wrote:I used to buy them, and played them with a friend of mine...he cheated since he used over 50 (or was it 60?) cards in one deck :3. 60 is the # of cards, unlike yugioh where it's 40~60, pokemon is exactly 60. I bought then slowed down during expedition~begining EX series, then stopped completely around delta species, then started up again half a year ago. All I do is collect and shelve them away. Have you ever bought Pokemon Cards? - Zalfor - 2010-09-04 Glad to see I'm not alone out there. I only bought the first 3 or so series of the cards, traded a bit and played a bit while also trading/fighting on the Red/Blue games. Collecting cards used to be a big hobby for me, collecting a few dollars here and there when I could and bought some cards(not just Pokemon, I bought Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh and of all things, original Digimon cards too). You feel so proud when you make your first little deck of the most god awful nooby cards in the entire game and challenge anyone to play. Then you slowly gather so many the boxes start to pile up and you have like 3 small cardboard boxes crammed full of cards. Then you think to yourself, well, if I spent $3 for 12, and I multiply that by these many...oh pineapple. I could've bought an awesome car. Anywho, have any of you tried to go to any tournament/event put on by some hobby shop? Or maybe even thought of starting one up at a library or something? Maybe get some use out of those dusty old cards >.> Have you ever bought Pokemon Cards? - Cyadd - 2010-09-04 I bought a few for myself, and sold them for like 1/100 of the price ten years later. I just use my Asian friend's cards. Have you ever bought Pokemon Cards? - Alilatias - 2010-09-04 I bought like 5 booster cards a really long time ago. The only holographic card I got in those boosters was a Lugia. The next day on the block, I caught a 'friend' trying to steal it from my backpack. Maybe get some use out of those dusty old cards >.> My brother does weekly yugioh tournaments at the nearby hobby shop [sometimes 2-3 a weekend] or he'll go to regionals about every 3-4 weeks. He usually ends up winning at the hobby shop ones and places pretty high at regionals which makes him decent money. At anime expo, they had diff card game tournaments. My brother did both yugioh and pokemon, but they weren't too popular since it wasn't a real tournament event but mroe of a side event. Only thing that's kinda bleh is really you only have 1-3 deck archetypes for pokemon atm and almost everyone runs them - Luxchomp - Sablelock - Think 3rd main one is speed-drill And for yugioh, people usually run x-sabers or FTK decks. This was back around grade 3-5, which was 6-8 years ago? For me elementary school was basically Pokemon and middle school was Yu-Gi-Oh lol Have you ever bought Pokemon Cards? - Sam - 2010-09-05 Bought them, bought hundreds of them, bought more, played the game like a madman. I was a master. Have you ever bought Pokemon Cards? - Justin - 2010-09-05 I still have...4-5000 of them or so. I pick 'em up once a month or two. Have you ever bought Pokemon Cards? - Worthyness - 2010-09-05 I stopped when 2nd gen came out. I couldn't keep up with the times and no one wanted to play pokemon because Yu gi oh came out instead. Then in th grade, a bunch of myfriends and i brought pokemon back (i used old school, they went out and bought new ones). I still like collecting to this day, but not with the "OMG must havvvvveeeee" attitude (mainly yu gi oh). Have you ever bought Pokemon Cards? - Tay - 2010-09-05 I used to buy alot. I even got Latias in one of my packs, I almost pomegranate my pants. Have you ever bought Pokemon Cards? - Kaasoljoyyx - 2010-09-05 Worthyness Wrote:I stopped when 2nd gen came out. I think more people are getting back into pokemon because konami [company that makes yugioh] is pissing off its fan-base pretty bad. I never played, but i think the best strategical card game around is still magic. Personally I'd want a card game where there aren't 1-4 archetype decks that everyone runs, but rather a game where there really is no god tier deck and all of them have advantages/disadvantages. |
