Wow, somebody must like you.

Unfortunately, that somebody's a phisher. ;_;

Is this legit? - whybanme - 2010-08-16

But if I'm sending the email to an @nexon.net, how can it hurt?

Is this legit? - sicnarf - 2010-08-16

BTA won one of those figures. You could ask him if it's the same sort of thing.

I am in Canada, obviously I should know that's an error...

Province is the word Kevo refuses to acknowledge as the accurate name for the division of geographic areas in the nation of Canada

Pretty much, though my e-mail was from Hime. And they didn't show me the figures, so I was worried about ending up with this one.

But I was actually talking about this a few days ago, so this is a bit of an odd coincidence...

 Spoiler

Anyway, based on all that, I'm pretty sure this is legit.

fapfapfap >_>

I dunno how I win so much crap. Honestly, it's not even that much, I just get lucky. Lemme list:

Commercial contest (1,000,000 maple points)
5,000 x2 maple points from MapleStory MySpace thing (when they used to do that actively)
Vindictus CB key from Facebook contest.
DFO T-shirt from facebook contest
DFO figurine from facebook contest

I might even be forgetting something so I guess Nexon just loves me :3

I think the mail address it was sent from wasn't nexon.net. If so, might be phishing.

Not that I'd give my phone and address to Nexon if it was legitimate Hurt

But the e-mail says to send it to webevents@nexon.net, so it's not like they'd get it anyway. That being said, it's written in the same format as mine, and I'm sure if you scrolled down there'd be the same legal warning, so it's pretty legit looking.

EDIT: Looked through my sent e-mails; I never actually gave them my ID either. Verifying my ID was just a matter of replying, I think.

Usually the phishing scams I've seen do this:

The make the email look legit by faking the address so its like ***@nexon.net. However, this is not how they getcha'.

They then have their bs message, either zomg you won something in game or zomg your account needs verification for something. They follow this up with a 'legit looking' link such as

www.southperry.net
Always check the status bar down there V on any link to see where the link really goes
(This one says southperry but it really goes to google)

Or, it has an addres that tries to look legit but has a wrong domain addres, looking something like
nexon-verify.(some hax site).net

On your message everything looks alright because its referring you to a @nexon address. However, mouse over the link on that email they want you to send it to and see if it matches up what it says.

Make sure its not something like this
webevents@nexon.net <~ Mouse over this and check status bar.
