North Korea - Jedward - 2010-07-04 Go watch this video series. Please. It's really sad, in my opinion, when I think about how these people live. They know nothing about how much better life is outside of their nation, and they're conditioned to love living in crap. I was really amazed during and after watching this. I'm not being stuck-up and saying that OH LOLOLOL NORTH KOREA SUCKS, but rather I'm saying that these people should get a chance to live somewhere else. North Korea - Jon - 2010-07-05 Watched this the other night. ;_; Sad. North Korea - Horusmaster - 2010-07-05 North Korea isn't the worst country to live in. The media makes you think it is by featuring north korea on news instead of some African countries where the life expectancy is 30 something. Fact is North Korea actually have higher literacy rate than USA. The people there are taught differently, their ideology is not wrong, but just different than what an average American would think. Then aren't we all being mind manipulated, just in different ways? North Korea - Horusmaster - 2010-07-05 Kalovale Wrote:Then aren't we all being mind manipulated, just in different ways?Having different ideology is not mind manipulation. Or else you can say all religions people are being mind manipulated. There are many things that are not known about north korea, media likes to jump on these unknowns and make speculations about them. A n example is the report of a Chinese activist who "mysteriously gone missing" after being sentenced to 6 month in prison. The western media not only speculate about how the activist is being tortured or murdered in prison, but mention this news on every subsequent news that's related to China, making readers think that all Chinese activists gets "tortured and murdered" in prison. Until a few month ago, that activist came in contact with bbc and said that he simply changed his address after the 6 month in prison, and he wasn't tortured. I agree there are probably 'worse' places to live than North Korea, and I was surprised when I checked on North Korean education on Wikipedia. But they isolate themselves so much from the world - the only part of North Korea anyone sees is the leader with nuke threats. From what I've seen in the videos, I'm starting Part 7, they live in the political world of the 1950s. Propaganda and half truths seem to be the people's main source of information about the world. (While American media might fit that bill at times, there are always other ways to get information. Wikipedia, for example.) Then there's North Korea and it's Human Rights issues. You also have to keep in mind how directed this tour is, so it isn't exactly a fair view of the country. If anything, it should be an exaggerated, positive view... so iunno. Horusmaster Wrote:Having different ideology is not mind manipulation. Or else you can say all religions people are being mind manipulated. Yea, a lot of people argue that. A LOT. Myself included. For all we know, he said that to avoid further punishment. I do agree that there are a lot of Unknowns in Korea and China, for that matter. I'll refrain from going into that example as I haven't done any research on it. Hell, I've only heard of it once or twice. Speaking of North Korean propaganda...
Has anybody read the accounts of those that have fled NK? It's pretty depressing. 13 minutes, but pretty interesting: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/programmes/newsnight/8720870.stm This is also a good read: http://axisofeviltour.com/nk-trip1.htm North Korea - SexPistols - 2010-07-05 how do these people even get in to North Korean AND being able to film AND Sneaking the vid out in the first place... Did you even watch? This is a pretty retarded post right here. Before writing stupid sh'it you could at least try and analize what we're discussing and avoid coming out as a f'aggot. If N.Korea is really bad as it is described in the video do you really think they would let these people sneak the footage out of N.korea alive? You need to think outside of the box before getting brainwashed by the western propaganda North Korea - Rob - 2010-07-05 [color="#000080"] SexPistols Wrote:I watched and may I ask how is my post retarded?? THE VERY FIRST VIDEO EXPLAINS HOW THEY DID TO GET INTO NORTH KOREA. THEY ARE ONLY ENTITLED TO SHOOT FOOTAGE OF WHAT THEY ARE ALLOWED TO. ANYTHING THAT MAKES N. KOREA LOOK BAD CAN'T ME FILMED. HELL HOW CAN IT EVEN BE STAGED. Fact: In China, if a policeman is caught giving unusual treatment to citizens, they'll be fired, but not only that they can face times in jail depending on the harm done. That is the law. Even with that, unusual treatment does happen, it also happens in the US, it is the fault of individual, not the government. North Korea - TøbiasBlack - 2010-07-05 honestly, yeah it sucks, but this is the lifestyle the people are forced into. i can feel sorry for those who have no other ideas of ways to live that arent starvation, and yeah being ruled over by this kind of mindset and government is terrible no matter where you are, but ill give credit where its due and state that the fact that the country has been kept around for as long as it has with this total blacklisting of outside influence is a feat to give credit to. gotta give the devil his due when its needed. plus, i don't know if a sudden rapture of western and eastern information would be good for people. imagine how many would commit suicide over something like hearing that every single thing they were taught, grew up knowing, and experienced was a lie told to them by a dictator, and other things. sometimes you have to consider if people can handle that kind of a big reveal. how'd you react if your entire world was basically turned on its head and shattered to bits? yeah the people deserve to live a life better than this oppresive one, but counterly the american way of life has its flaws too, as does every other aspect of other societies, so its not a right and balanced thing to make a statement like "these people should be freed." and yes my thoughts are a bit jumbled, i apologize. North Korea - Moonlapse - 2010-07-05 There is alot of evidence to suggest that living conditons in North Korea are worrisome and that human rights violations occur. One major source of evidence is the testimony of people who used to live in North Korea and the sheer number of people fleeing North Korea. Even the North Korean Government has trouble explaining itself when human rights violations clearly occur. |
