How to Deal with De-Motivation? - DementedFist - 2009-05-23

I've recently been extremely de-motivated.

How do I get the will to train?

Note: This is the ONLY section where I get replies....

If you don't feel motivated to train why would you want to force yourself to?

How to Deal with De-Motivation? - bio9205 - 2009-05-23

Yeah. If I don't have the motivation to train, just slack around, do quests, etc. That's what happened to me after I hit 120, and I'm still doing it Rolleyes

If you do need motivation, have a RL friend competing with you, or a target, say, 120, or you wanna max out some skill of some sort; it'll help.

Take a loooooooong break from training...or from MS completely. That usually helps.

How to Deal with De-Motivation? - Dyxanije - 2009-05-24

Just force yourself to play until you die.

How to Deal with De-Motivation? - ItzTaylor - 2009-05-24

Uh, if you don't feel like training, then don't train.
I don't get it. You don't want to train, but you are asking us how to make yourself train.

That would be doing something you don't want to do.

If you are bored of training, take a break. You don't have to train. And if you really wanted to train that bad, you would.

Nobody can motivate you better than yourself.
You should not force yourself to train, because If you do, It wont be fun..
Try to watch higher levels videos, It might help, but not for the long term If you dont have the passion and motivation for it..

Good. Then race to 70, then 100, then 120...

You get the idea.

Also, I noticed your sig - you have so many characters. I mean, it's not bad to have that many, but concentrating on one tends to make you want to train it more. I've been playing only ONE character (if you don't count the 4x pirate I started last year =p) since I started MS two and a half years ago, even though it's only level 120, but I still feel happy training it, and I don't get bored of training easily.

That has happened to me many many times. Trust me. I went on a half a year hiatus from Maple. That explains the fact I level at the slowest pace you can imagine. It doesn't help the fact I hate to train.

What I did was to take a small break from Maple because forcing yourself to train will only disgust you even more and dry your motivation to its lowest level. By taking a break, you can cool down and experience new things, pay more attention to what you might have ignored before. When the times come, you can come back and continue to enjoy your Maple life.

Another suggestion would be to make a new character. There's nothing more exciting than trying new things as said above. Try a class totally different from your main or a class that you like, but never had the guts to try. You don't really need to fund it a lot. I funded all my characters with only 1m and they did great until now. As you level, you will gain more mesos and balance your budget out. I'd recommend using White and Blue Potions until 3X since they are way cheaper than Mana Elixers and all. From 3X, you get free pots from CPQ!!!1111!! Glitter And from 5X, you get MESAR from LMPQ!!!@22!!!!!11

If you prefer to stick with your main, then find FUN people to train with. Even if it's only an hour, I can garantee you it's really worth it. Don't train for EXP, but for the fun. You may say that it's dangerous to chat and train, but there is always a rope or a platform near by to save you. Wink

Take it from this lady^, it's been 2 years and she's still at 10X. Jajaja~! J/k, haha, love you, baby~ <3 But like she said, try a new character til you find a class that you really enjoy.

I thought I was going to play a Pole Arm Dragon Knight forever, I was wrong. I played a Hermit and loved it so much, I never lost my motivation.. not til early 120's anyways.. haha.

If doing that doesn't work, maybe it's time to take a small break.. I do that occasionally too.

How to Deal with De-Motivation? - Stereo - 2009-05-24

It turns out I just love the exp rates.... I got bored of my Hermit as soon as it got below 20%/hour >___> Since it hit 110, my DK's leveled twice and my Paladin once, and neither of those had been trained at all since mid 2008.

I think I somehow leveled through the first 40 levels of 3rd job without ever having a "slow" level, so I'm really not in that mindset yet =x Having to recharge throwing stars every 90 minutes is starting to get on my nerves... my Paladin can stock up 1000 pots and train for 10 hours at my own pace.

On the other hand, splitting my training time 3 ways is not good for attaining goals >_> so every so often I take stock, think about where I want to be, and play a specific character.

Did you see the "hacked" next to them?
When I said hacked, I meant they were DELETED.

And after I got hacked, I made another dit, but it didn't have the same appeal.

I'd be de-motivated too if 3 of my characters were stolen.

Not much I can do about the stolen part except tell you to be more careful and read up on it. Report it and pray something happens, though nothing ever does.

And as for training, do whatever feels right. I would pq and train non-stop early on and then eventually I'd hit a wall where I just didn't want to go further. I think it was once at 53 (After getting there in a little over a week.) and... 75? And now I'm at 112 for my cb, but now play my bishop in the hopes of making money.
In other words, don't force yourself, race or not. If you do race for it, go in small steps.

Save all quests that aren't level or time limited till later. Once I hit a high level and was bored of grinding, I was out of quests to do, and thus was bored. Maybe go hpq some. I've seen some people go play there when bored. You could also try farming an item, but sometimes trying to find a specific scroll can be harder than training.

However, never train or hunt in an area with no safe spot. Places like himes makes it hard to talk, and even if you can, stressful to do so. It can ruin all fun of grinding or farming.

Or you could wait and just hang out, and wait until Nexon gets it together and makes it less impossible to do things without nx. Rolleyes
