No, really. Do most people actually care who brings the information? Look at Rick's Sauna: it's still a fine source of information, but it has been long overshadowed.
Bet they didn't notice that Fiel's threads were gone yet.
To keep things short and sweet, which is most effective at a boss? Spamming Panic or Power Strike? I'm sure one is better than the other one up to a certain point, be that ten hits or ten thousand. D:
I haven't played Maple in about... 14 Months now
but would like to come back. I heard Carnival PQ is actually uh... fun, so I'd be making a CPQ mule to regain the funds i gave away when I "quit". My question to you guys is; What is the best CPQ mule class, and what will I need in terms of equips to be effective. I can borrow a decent chunk of change from a friend, but I need to know what to buy, and probably how to obtain this stuff (lolbasil, MTS, FM).
Basically a flash game made by a Japanese guy where you level up stats and sword and basically create a sword larger than the world you are on in order to defeat the final boss and get more money for a larger sword.
Fun facts:
- You can enchant your sword with an element, as well. Elements are a key part of some bosses.
- There are 5 equip-ables that cannot be bought, and 7 regular items that must be found. Can you find them all?
- The max level for SIZE on your sword is 19998. 9999 length and 9999 width. The max level for your sword's POWER is currently unknown to me.
- Can you unlock the secret boss?
- Can you defeat the secret boss and unlock Hard mode? (Hard is an understatement!)
Q & A: I'll answer some questions as they come up here.

Quote:Arg! Help me Ryun! I'm having trouble on <Boss>!
Spoiler
You don't need any strategy for bosses until the Sorceress, my only tip until then is to grow a larger sword and just keep hacking away.
Quote:
Quote:What does <Stat> do?
Spoiler
Might/Strength = How much damage you do... almost pointless next to sword levels early on.
Endurance/Vitality = How much damage you can take. Get max level armor and the buckler before you even think about buying this. (Tip: Get the Plate Armor instead of upgrading your default armor, you'll save a couple mil)
Knowledge/Intelligence = Obviously, it's your spell damage.
Fate/Luck = How often you encounter higher tier monsters. Almost every type of monster has 4 different levels to it, and each level has exponential HP and Money growth for each tier of monster. Although, one specific tier 4 monster that is extremely strong is required for you to beat the game. Have fun with 2 hours of clicking. (Tip: If you've unlocked everything else in the game and you've still got an empty slot in your inventory... Wonder what type of extremely powerful monster would drop what goes in that slot?
Quote:
Quote:wtp! This monster just one-hit killed me even though I have, like, 2000 Vitality and level 9 armor! What bull is this?
Spoiler
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, BUY THE BUCKLER. The Buckler is perhaps the most useful equipment in the game, for 50,000 gold (I think?), you can stop those attacks that do extreme amounts of damage right after you attack. No guard button necessary, just equip it and go.
Quote:
Quote:Oh ****. The Sorceress kicks my ass, especially the lightning attack! What's with all these attacks?
Spoiler
The Sorceress is the first part of the game where it gets really hard.
If you bought the buckler, you're a smart guy, and you're on your way. If you haven't figured it out already, the Scimitar is a great weapon, because it is affected the most by width expansions (the tip and the bend are wider than any other sword) ... except for a certain unlockable sword. Get some length, level up, and get a lot of width. Don't stop moving! Keep weaving and when she launches her lightning attack, strike! She tends to cycle her attacks, but sometimes she may use two in a row, be wary.
Quote:
Quote:What about <boss>? He's even stronger!
Stage 9
Spoiler
Ahh, Ifrit, he'll be the first major trouble many people face. He's got the attacks of a touhou game (youtube it if you don't know what I mean) and the strength of one too.... that is.. unless you find his weakness. A couple tens of water enchantment should do the job. Just don't overenchant.
Stage 10
Spoiler
Lizard Assassin? I hope you didn't put too much water on your sword, as water HEALS him. Get rid of that water and put some fire on that sword and he'll be some crispy lizard really soon.
Stage 11
Spoiler
Necromancer? What? His attacks push you out of the arena? Coin of Bravery. Makes you unable to leave a fight until it is finished for only 5,000 gold. Fairly simple fight, otherwise. Get more INT if you need it.
Stage 12
Spoiler
A big pushover. Just whack at him, preferably with a neutral-enchanted, high level sword. Not tough at all. Fun fact: He drops fruits that can raise your stats when he dies, and his trapfruit can turn out to be Fruit of Might! Also, fans of the Tales series may recognize this boss for some reason. I don't know, maybe it's just me.
Stage 13
Spoiler
Ice Queen. What a *****. Make sure you get some fire on that sword and all you can hope for is a lot of luck (not the stat >_>) and some poor crystal shots (the focused ones will hit more than the ones that shoot everywhere. If you're lucky, she'll interrupt her ice attacks with other ones (heart and lightning, I think?)
Stage 14
Spoiler
Guardian Dragon: Easy. He's easy to kill and easy to dodge, he just has quite a bit of HP.
Stage 15
Spoiler
Death. Ugh. This guy gave me a few troubles. If you've gotten the chaser spell, it will help. When he turns invincible, keep firing chaser so you'll know when to strike. The little "trails of death" are extremely dangerous. Dodge them and you'll save yourself a lot of frustration.
Stage 16
Spoiler
Ahh, the "final" boss. This guy is A PAIN IN THE ASS. The best you can hope for is a lot of dodging and very little of the exploding fireballs. The beams are easy to dodge, usually, but the exploding fireballs can cause a LOT of pain, mentally and on your little guy. I've literally died when this guy had NO YELLOW left in his HP bar thanks to those. What the ****.
Stage 16, Unlockable boss
Spoiler
Hellhound (Tier 1) is a boss you kill for a million or so Gold and a Yummy Bone to buy WAN WAN over with (explained below). Why the hell does he kill you with an extremely HEUG blast? For one thing, his attack is super strong. Not to mention his fireballs are too. Also, he only attacks ever time he gets hit.
What?
You knew these things?
In that case, *coughhisattackwidthisthesamewidthasyourswordwidthsoget0widthandmaxlengthcough*
o_O
Excuse me.
SUPER SEKRIT STAGE
Spoiler
OMG SUPER SPOILERS DUDE
Spoiler
Commonly known as "Bald Space Jesus", the Avatar is the final, secret, super-strong boss. I won't give you a strategy for this: But instead, two item names and an element: Energy Sword, Dark, and Hyper Armor.
Quote:
Quote:Well how do I get to this SUPER SEKRIT STAGE, Ryun?
Spoiler
Once you equip the item you get from killing the Stage 16 first boss, you must go to each shrine of a stat. (Might in stage 2, Endurance in stage 6, Knowledge in stage 9, Fate in stage 12). Try and figure it out , man!
Oh fine, I'll spoil them below if you so require.
Might
Spoiler
Hey look, here comes a killer wall from the right! Quickly, kill it before it pushes you out of the stage or crushes you to death! Simple really.
Endurance
Spoiler
Oh noes, a fairy is attacking you with fireballs that do no damage!
1. Enter level
2. Get off the computer for a couple minutes to get a snack or a drink or use the restroom or whatever.
3. ?????
4. Profit!
Knowledge
Spoiler
Yay, multiplying slimes! Put on your tallest boots and go squish them. That's right, all you need to do is walk over them, silly.
Fate
Spoiler
All luck. The 100 gold bag will move to you when you get close enough to grab it, so just walk around the bags, grab it, and get out of there without getting killing
Loose ends
Spoiler
You may need to kill the hellhound once, or repeat the shrines a couple times to get your trophy glowing. Also you need a certain percentage of your monster library in order to enter the SUPER SEKRIT STAGE too, like 85%.
Quote:
Quote:Ummm... i bork. will cut monsters 4 golds. No seriously, how do I farm money?
Spoiler
Two important things: Monster tiers and Location. Stage 10 has excellent money drops (100k+ from a single tier 1 monster!), but once you hit stage 13, you're set for life. Look around for the Frozen Wastes. Here, you will encounter every single monster that isn't exclusive to a single stage (E.X. Dragon, bosses, hellhound, etc). The catch is, every monster here has the same HP and strength like normal, except the money drops are vastly upgraded. This may seem like nothing, but all monsters on the same tier drop similar money. Neko Slime? 50k. Harpy? 50k. Vampire? Around 50k. Next tier: Meta Slime? 500k a bag. Rotten Corpse? About the same as a Meta Slime per bag. Next tier? Pharaoh, yellow mummies, drop several million per bags. Tier 4? Several hundred million per bag. Just be sure for a long clicking session. Frozen Wastes is where you will spend most of your time in Ginormo Sword once you unlock it.
Quote:
Quote:What are these two weird temples in the game?
Spoiler
These temples are locked until you reach a certain game stage. Upon unlocking, Stage 7 will contain your doppelganger, which drops a very useful item. Stage 13 has a temple with the Abyss worm, which drops a spell that pales in comparison to Chaser.
Quote:
Quote:But Ryun, what are these mystical items that you speak of? And what of this Chaser spell?
Spoiler
Super sekrit spoilers, mang. Don't click the next part if you want to find out on your own.
Spoiler
Doppelganger drops energy sword, which has a small bonus to width extensions, and is extremely long, even at level 0.
Golden Knight (tier 4 Living Armor) is an extremely strong enemy (30 min to two hours of CLICKAN) that drops several hundred million gold and the Hyper Armor, a required piece of equipment if you wish to beat the SUPER SEKRIT BOSS within your lifetime.
Abyss Worm drops the shockwave spell, which is basically a crappy spell that just shoots off a shockwave in a random direction. Really crap.
Chaser. <3 Chaser. Chaser shoots six orbs for each swing of your sword which can strike the enemy multiple times, thus increasing your damage output and easily taking the fun out of killing enemies that are harmed by magic only. How to get it? Prepare 100,000,000 gold and go to the "empty" town in Stage 8. The Sorceress will offer you the spell for 100,000,000 gold at like a 1/50 chance each time you enter/leave.
Quote:
Quote:Why would I want to hire these weird NPCs, and how do they help me?
Spoiler
Indigo=Roger is a guy in stage 6 that basically shoots throwing knives to damage your opponent. His knives are incredibly strong, but he's pretty weak, in general, and may die off quickly. He's a bad shot, too.
NIM NIM is awesome (stage 12). Got in a bad fight where you can't survive for more than 30 seconds? NIM NIM randomly heals you. What a lovely kitty! Useful in long fights. NIM NIM also has quite a length HP bar.
WAN WAN (Stage 1) can only be unlocked by getting a Yummy Bone by killing Hellhound (Stage 16, LOLOLOL) which you kill after killing the False God. He's basically a Hellhound that attacks every time you fire a spell. Handy, dandy. His attack also has the same width as your sword, just like Hellhound!
Quote:
Quote:Alright, I've beaten the SUPER SEKRIT BOSS. Now what?
Spoiler
You're done!
HA. Just kidding. You should have gotten an item called Order of the Star. Once you turn it on, go ahead and try to beat the SUPER SEKRIT BOSS again. Don't bother reading the rest of this, just go do it right now.
What's that? You died in three hits? Well silly, that's because once you equip the Order of the Star, you enter Hard Mode! Even with 2500 Vitality and the SUPER SEKRIT ITEM REQUIRED TO BEAT THE SUPER SEKRIT BOSS, Everything still one-hit kills me. Well what's the point of this, you ask? All money drops are EXPONENTIALLY INCREASED. A Tier 3 mummy (Pharaoh) can drop 2-3 bags of 999,999,999. That's right. TWO TO THREE BAGS. This is at the Frozen Wastes however. Just be sure that you kill monsters that don't shoot projectiles, however, or you'll get killed easily.

Two weeks into Ginormo Sword:
I've spent way too much time playing this game. >_> But I won't rest until I beat Hard Mode.
Updates will come less frequently due to recent happenings. See 1st post, page 11 for more details.
Just thought I'd share this almost unknown gem with you all.
Magicians - Almost everyone calls them "mage" by habit... well at least I do. ¬_¬
Assassin - sin
Bandit - dit
Chief Bandit - CB
Crusader - sader
Crossbowman - xbowman
You get the idea.
So what do you think the new class abbreviations for pirate be?
This is what I've got so far in my opinion:
Pirate - Pirate (short enough, really)
Infighter - A bit tough, maybe "Inf".
Gunslinger - "gun" would refer to the weapon, so maybe "slinger" or "GunS"?
Buccaneer - Most likely "Buc" or "Bucc"
Valkrie - "Valk". That's gotta be it. I'll throw a fit if it isn't. D:<
Viper - Probably fine at Viper, but it might turn out to be "Vip"
Captain - Either Captain or "Cap"
Since Fiel didn't post these, I decided to extract them, upload them, and post it myself! You can click on the images to go to the directory where the rest of the images are uploaded. Enjoy!~
Well, I felt that someone had to make a thread about them in a section with a name like this. xP
I've seen shows/articles that mention "algorithms" to solving them. People that practice can solve them in under ten minutes easily, the world record is barely over ten seconds.
Does anyone know how to solve them? When ever I try Google, the sites are difficult to understand. :/
August 18, 2010: Took long enough, didnt it? Im finally updating my guide. I know Ive mentioned many times that I was going to update, and then nothing came of it. The game has changed A LOT. When I started, it would take almost an hour to get to level 10. Now it takes 10-15 minutes tops. When this guide was originally written, there were two archer classes. Now theres 3 (Wind Archers). Well, sorry for the delays, the update is here. Enjoy!
Changes: Moved all old training spots and old information into spoilers. As useless as they are, some people might like the nostalgia they bring (myself included).
-Took out first job color scheme (melee vs. bow/crossbow)
-Added in updated training spots (Time Temple hasnt been implemented yet, cause the patch hit before I could finish)
-Summary version updated
Hello and welcome to my Where to level guide. This was written as Tylx has seemed to move on and though her list provides good places to train in the past and many of those are still good areas, some of the newer good places to train have not been added. This list is a combination of the two: Places that Ive found good to train at coupled with places that she has included on the list.
Spoiler
In all honesty, I had wanted to post this here a few weeks ago when it was originally finished. However, right before I did post it, I decided to look over WhiteasIce's complete guide and what I noticed was that the places listed here and those found in his guide were VERY similar (even the commentary was similar). This made me hesitant about releasing this as while I did spend a lot of time on it, it was "useless" as it was redundant and releasing it would be hypocritical of me, a person who is often directing others to stickies, guides and search functions. I've had a busy few weeks (my birthday was last week and Im in the process of trying to find a summer job) and after putting it off for so long, Ive decided to pick it up and finally post it here (after seeing 2 threads about a training index on the first page).
A few things to mention before starting:
-While Tylx's guide is very simple and precise to the point and WhiteasIce's is very detailed, I hope this is somewhere in between. If someone wants just a simple guide on where to level, then they can just look at the places. If they want a bit of info on the place, they can open the spoiler and find it. Comments on the format are highly appreciated (both positive and negative). If you find any of the links/pictures are incorrect, please mention it and I will fix it.
-I know there are bunch of "missing guide links" here and that's because I wasnt sure: Do I need to personally ask for permission of each of them to link to their guides? That being said, if you have written a guide here and want to allow its use, posting/PMing me about it would be appreciated. After the posting of this, I intend to PM the owners of the guides for permission to use them but I've been busy so I havent had the time to do that yet.
-This guide is written for a specific group of people and assumes a few things:
1. That you know what an archer is and how to allocate both SP and AP properly (meaning you dont have points in LUK, didnt go thrust first and didnt acquire items like INT overalls and +7d melee weapons for use during training, etc.)
2. That you understand what equipment a standard archer would have and do whatever it takes to improve your damage (short of things that are against the Terms of Service). This would include simple things such as using a 100%d dex Sauna/Bath robe, 3 dex green bamboo hat instead of class items that add less stats, despite how bad they look and using the bow suited for your level and things along those lines. In summary, you will be the average damage ranged archer with the bare minimum cheap equips (100%d overall costs less than 400k: 15k for the bathrobe, 350k for 100% overall dex scrolls and Green bamboo hats cost under 100k and are reasonable affordable acquisitions of most archers).
As a last point that serves as a good reminder:
WhiteAsIce Wrote:Your equipment does not determine where you should train. Ultimately, your skills determine your damage and where you should train.
Your equips determine the rate of training you have in a given place but it is your skill build that determines where you train, not your equips.
Formalities: Though I have contributed information to this guide, I do not take full credit for it. Many of the places found on this list are found within various guides around this forum. Thanks to everyone who has contributed by suggesting places to train, builds to try and to those who wrote guides for the benefit of fellow archers.
Q&A (If you have a question that isnt answered by the following, feel free to post and ask)
Spoiler
1. Can I use exchange quests up to 30?
Yes you can. However, it will get slow at around 23 and you will spend a lot of money on it. With the release of MTS, this might not be a problem anymore, but you need A LOT of inventory space for this. Do you have the mules for it (both to store exchanges and pots)? If you have all the resources, then you can, but I would recommend training a bit as the exp starts getting slow close to the end of 1st job.
2. What if no one invites me to CPQ when Im 30 because Im too low leveled?
Train at teddies and try again in an hour or something. Teddies are good exp and theres an npc to CPQ in Ludibrium. If you dont want to train, just check every once in a while. CPQ is not just about damage but about strategy as well. If you can show you can be efficient at 30, then people will take you in.
3. I am level _____ and I kill ________ on the list too fast? What should I do? I am level ______ and I kill ___________ on the list too slow? What do I do?
If you kill too fast, then pick monsters of a higher level. It means youre strong and that you can try the higher leveled monsters on the list. Alternatively, if the monsters are too strong, it doesnt mean youre too weak. It just means youre not ready for them yet. Try training in the spots for lower levels. The structure that spots are listed here in a way that averagely funded characters will be able to train at the given spots. If youre just starting, you might be skipping bows or armor, making it harder to train at some of the given spots.
4. Whats the difference between training at Straw Target Dummies and Hoodoo/Voodoos?
Straw Target Dummies have A LOT more spawn, meaning that its more for mobbing. Hoodoo/Voodoos only have 4 per spawn, meaning you will be killing them one at a time. Additionally, Straw Target Dummies have less hp and exp, meaning that as you get higher leveled, you start over-killing them, making them less efficient
5. I went strafe first. When do I go from Hoodoos/Voodoos to Squids?
I would say when you have 15+ strafe and a bit of puppet. That would mean level 77-78ish. However, I would say you should be 1hkoing hoodoos/voodoos a good amount before going (70-80%ish). Training at squids is NOTHING like training at hoodoo/voodoos. Whereas it would take over 5-6 hits for a hoodoo/voodoo to kill you, a squid would kill you in two. Note: Snipers with 1 blizzard and good equips can possibly go squids as early as 71
6. Whats the difference between rain first and strafe first builds in terms of places to train?
Rain first builds will tend to go to monsters that mob well together (gryphons, pirates, gobies) while strafe first builds go to places where you kill monsters one at a time. In theory, rain first builds kill more monsters (meaning more chances of getting drops perhaps?) while strafe first kills fewer monsters but stronger ones.
7. Gobies or Newties? And when do I switch?
Newties = faster exp but major pot burn/money loss (till you find something). Gobies = decent exp with gain from meso drops alone. If you have the money to spare, Newties would be the way to go. If you dont, then gobies would be better till you earn enough to spare for them. A good time to switch would be 105, when you can get into Newtie parties and get leech exp though thats still too early for most. In general somewhere between 105 to110 is good. I went at 111 (when they came out).
8. Why wasnt _____ training spot included?
Its perhaps because the place is new or has been overlooked. If you found a good training place that is not on the list, feel free to inform me by posting here or sending me a PM and I will add it to the list (and of course, you will be credited for it).

- Job related quests
Spoiler
Comments: With all the newly (not so new anymore) implemented job quests, you will easily level all the way up to slightly past 20 doing them. Not only will these quests help you breeze through the early levels, finishing them will give you the Amdusias Hat (12 dex), which has no comparison till the zakum helm at 50. The following quests are grouped together by monster, so you wont have to kill them multiple times (level requirement beside):
Comments: Requires 3 people and gives 1600 exp every 10 minutes
-Has bonus with lots of pigs/ribbon pigs

Spoiler
-Exchange quests
Spoiler
As good as exchange quests were, they have lost their appeal. Not only would you have to mass buy them, but you would have to waste 20 minutes (10 minute boat ride to, and 10 minutes back) to use them, not to mention all the storage and money needed on the pieces. In those 20 minutes, the above mentioned quests would probably get you further.
-Mushroom Garden
Spoiler
While Mushroom Gardens map is simple and straightforward, it is simply too big and requires too much climbing to be practical, especially with all the alternatives around. Also, its a far walk compared to closer maps listed above.
-Pigs Beach

Unfortunately, 95% of newbies probably dont even know where this is anymore =(

Spoiler
Previous training places that still work (see above for descriptions)
Comments: Some training spots dont change, this is as old school as youll get
-Bottom of Ant tunnel 1 has a sniping spot for archer that is for the most part safe (see above picture. The only time it is not safe is when a zombie mushroom jumps down from the top every few minutes). Stand there and fire off arrows and they will hit both the bottom and top ledge.
-Ant Tunnel 4 is for taking the whole map. What makes it decent training is that there is no climbing involved (which slows down killing time).
-Kill from top to bottom and when you reach the bottom, you change channels. Changing channels puts you at the top again.
-Since the last version of this guide, a mini dungeon for this spawn has been released, with sniping spots in the top 3 ledges
-make sure not to let the bottom load up with spawn, or you will have troubles clearing it, as there are no sniping spots down there
-Kerning PQ
Spoiler
Comments: Not the fastest way to train, especially if you have troubles getting in.
-Party quests in general are good ways to meet new people to train and become friends with
Comments: Swimming fun! You will almost NEVER get hit, as you will almost never be on the ledges, swim shooting
-hp/exp ratio is drastically lower than the Golden Temple dungeons, but this one has no limit
-Big map with lots of spawn...swimming makes traveling around it reasonable
-Heading all the way to Aqua to train might be a bit far for most people, considering theres almost nothing else to train on there
-Ariant PQ
Spoiler
Comments: PQs are fun
-You wont have trouble getting in, as this is competitive rather than teamwork-related
-Exp is not set, but rather dependent on how well you compete
Comments: starts at level 24 (The 30 minutes in Golden Temple dungeons should bridge the gap between the Amdusias quest chain and this one) by talking to The Rememberer (Left side of town)
-Requires killing Horny Blue Mushrooms, Zombie Mushrooms, and Ariant monsters
-Should get you to roughly level 27 or 28, and gives you free, untimed trip over to Ariant, which can let you train at Sand Rats/Sand Scorpions
Comments: Flat maps with lots of spawn.
-Come here when you can kill them in 1-2 hits, as they can overwhelm you easily (leading to lots of bow whacking)
-in that order, when they feel slow, graduate to the next monster and so on

While the first two maps have tonnes of sniping spots, the map is simply too big with too much climbing to be practical. Map 3 is still considerable, but there are better alternatives (see above)
-Desert Rabbits:
Spoiler
Mushrooms are probably better, and there are more compact maps with better spawn
-Jr. Cacti: See above
-Trixters
Spoiler
No one wants to go all the way to ludi, let alone walk 16-17 floors to train anymore. Sure youll never get hit, but the time you spend getting there is better off training elsewhere
- Wild Boars
Spoiler
Even WITH the method to get rid of Jr. Boogies, the map is simply too big with too much climbing to be practical. Also, the previous share with others doesnt exactly work when theres no other training there. Bonus marks for being extremely old school...just not enough to get it into the alternatives.
2nd job has training grounds divided into the two jobs: Crossbowman and Hunter. The main difference is in their mobbing attacks. Iron Arrow (Crossbowman attack) is straight while Arrow bomb (Hunter attack) can travel and hit monsters in both vertical and horizontal directions from impact (and also stuns). Iron Arrow will be abbreviated IA and Arrow Bomb will be referred to as just Bomb.
Green = Both Hunter and Crossbowman Blue = Hunter Red = Crossbowman
Comments: A mini-game style PQ that gives really fast exp.
-You dont use pots in here (as the game has its own form of pots) but you also dont pick up mesos.
-Despite not picking up mesos, you will make money here by looting the coins dropped by the PQ and exchanging them for necklaces that add +1 to all stats.
-A good way to make new friends/find people to train with for later levels
Comments: Flat map with decent spawn
- Good meso drop rate and has useful etc drop (Cellion tails, which can be traded in for 500 exp good for training low leveled characters)
-Many people train here so the maps are often crowded. If you cant get a whole map, sharing/partying is still good exp.
Comments: Of the teddy maps, Sky Terrace I yielded the best exp (75%/hr at level 30).
-Terrace hall is often crowded and people going by tend to kill some of the spawn so the surrounding maps would be better options.
-Exp drops rapidly as you level here, going from 75% at 30 to 65 at 32 and down to 45 at 34.
-For the most part, teddies dont mob much and as your bomb/IA will be level 1, it is often faster to kill them with arrow blow/double shot.
-Royal Cactus (Location: Royal Cactthus Desert-hidden street 4 maps outside the left portal of Ariant.)
Spoiler
Comments: A higher level'd version of the Young Catthus Desert map (has 6 spawn instead of 5) and has a better hp:exp ratio than teddies.
-Map is slightly bigger than the Jr. Cactus one so there will be more moving (though still considerably less movement than at teddies) though the same stand in the middle and fire both ways theory could still work.

-Kiyos
Spoiler
While comparable to Sakura Cellions, it loses out because of the bigger terrain
-Fire boars
Spoiler
Its annoying going up to clear dark axe stumps...the climb from bottom to top seems like an eternity. Awesome spot in beta, not so much 6 or so years later
-Jr. Kitties
Spoiler
: Back in the day, each person would take a ledge. Now, you cant even find enough people to each take a ledge if you go through all the channels. This place goes back to the opening of GMS, but the climbing makes the place impractical

Previously trained places still worth training at:
Spoiler
[ COLOR="Lime"]-Carnival PQ
-Brown and Pink Teddies
-Sakura Cellions
-Ludibrium PQ
Spoiler
Comments: Not as popular as before as it is slower than Carnival PQ and the rewards are less attractive.
Side Note: People like using summoning bags to kill people who do this PQ so it is advised you stay on the upper ledges.
Comments: Hunter only as Bombs range is based on splash damage (hits vertically as seen in above picture). IA would only be able to hit one row at a time. (Recommended for late 3x when you have maxed mastery and a decent level of bomb).
-Lupin dolls can be sold for up to 1k each as theyre needed for a quest.
Comments: More x-bow friendly as the map is flat (meaning IA owns). Hunters can train here too but why would they when they can train at the much friendlier Zombie Lupins?
-A boss that does 2.8k damage (Headless Horseman) spawns here every 12 hours so be careful when training here/expect high levels to come running through killing your spawn once in a while.
Comments: A relatively unknown and empty training ground. I myself didnt even know of it till my friend told me he could level almost once every two hours there at close to level 50.
-Hp pot usage will be low as youll be swim-shooting (like above picture)
-Scuba pepes dont mob well so youll be mostly using DS/AB.
Levels 40-50
Spoiler
Previous Training spots that are still worth a try
Comments: Leprechauns drop lots of money and have nice drops (Esther Shield, Steelies)
-Requires no movement (stand in the middle as in image) and has a fast respawn rate
-Watch out for Headless Horseman, which spawns on the map, and the Elder Wraiths that you might run into on the way there
Comments: Again a flat map, making Iron Arrow more useful than bomb.
-Map mobs well in general so both hunters and crossbowmen can train here.
- Flat maps also mean that you use more hp pots (as you have no sniping spots).
-Only come here if Straw Target Dummies are full (as theyre better exp).
Comments: Beginner map has best spawn. Late 4x is the absolute earliest you can come here and even then, you will run into people trying to ks you (the maps are really crowded). Partying provides better exp.
-If you have a character that has max holy symbol, you can stick it in town and party with someone and just go into town to get HS and come back out (close to 30%/hr up to 70).
Old School
-Star, Lunar and Luster Pixies
Spoiler
These maps will forever have a soft spot in my heart as they allowed me to earn 18 mill in 5 levels to buy Asianic Bows (all of a sudden, I feel old...does anyone else remember when an 83 attack asianic bow would cost close to 20 mill?), but the flat maps yield A LOT more exp. Cloud Park VI would still be worth visiting, especially after the revamp where there is only one short climbing passage.
-Flyeyes
Spoiler
Too risky to get to plus there are better options
-Golem Temple IV
Spoiler
The map was never great, but it was a considerable alternative.
-Jr. Yeti
Spoiler
Only come here for 60% Glove Attacks. That one big climb makes the map pretty unattractive for training

-Straw Target Dummies
- -Paper Lantern Ghosts and Dark Cloud Foxes
- -Monkey Forest II (I would suggest this over Straw Target Dummies as the exp is about the same but ZLupins are A LOT emptier).
-
Comments: Flat map with ledges to fire from
-Similar to Iron Mutaes, only the higher ones are immune to bow whacking
-Dungeon requires more movement, but has less chance of getting overwhelmed
Comments: Good Hp:Exp Ratio
-Crossroads map for early training, as you stand on a different ledge
-As you level and the spawn is inadequate, move onto Lower Ascent
-Move around lower ascent by using the teleport statue (as seen above) to get to the top and move downwards
-Getting to Windraiders is dangerous (1hko jump quest, elder wraiths)
Comments: I personally do not like this place, as it requires lots of climbing and maneuvering
-Jeep acts as sniping spot
-High spawn
-Potential of finding steelies
Old School
-Zombies
Spoiler
These were awesome at the release of GMS, and finding an empty one was a miracle. Now there are ledges there and so many other options that no one trains here anymore, not to mention the 15 minute walk it takes to get there
-Hectors
Spoiler
Remember back in the day when people hunted these for 60% Cape Dex and hoped to get an Ancient Scroll or 10% overall dex from their exchange at the cost of slightly slower speed than zombies? Theyre even slower than zombies, so stick with the above choices
Levels 60-70
Spoiler
Previously mentioned training spots still worth training at:
Comments: Low spawn, small map, high respawn rate. Exp here is comparable if not better than that at STDs (Straw Target Dummies).
-Similar to STDs, the maps are often very crowded. It is recommended you stay at STDs till late 6x or even early 7x before coming here.
Comments: Not necessarily 60-70, but whenever roids feel slow and you feel you are strong enough to take these on
-Map is bigger, but has more spawn
-the same concept regarding ledges and bow whacking applies here as well

Ludibrium Maze PQ
Spoiler
People only do this PQ to farm for pots these days
Water Goblins
Spoiler
They burn a lot of pots, and dont give nearly enough exp as other monsters in this range
Skeleton Soldier/Officer Skeleton
Spoiler
Too much climbing to make the potential of scrolls worthwhile
In 3rd job, the places will be colored as follows:
Green = Strafe first build Blue = Arrow Rain/Arrow Eruption first build Red = Early Inferno Build
Places where builds do not matter will be in Black. If a place is more ranger/sniper friendly, it will be specified in italics.
Comments: Jesters have a poor hp/exp ratio (50k/1.3k, compared to 53k/2.1k with Vikings)
-Map is very rain friendly, as it can hit multiple ledges
-much easier to move around in with a level 70 mount
Comments: I prefer Mountain Cliffs over Highlands as if you fall off of highlands, you end up two maps back and have to walk back.
-Gryphons tend to mob around the tele portals so you can just rain, tele, rain, etc. and just mob them all at the end. The other killing way is seen in the picture, where you clear the mobs around the portal one by one (finishing the mob before you move on).
-Train here until you get 4 or 7 rain (though you can bypass this completely for HT pirates if you have good equips).
Comments: Horrible HP/EXP ratio but the amazing spawns makes up for it.
-Rain hits both the middle and bottom ledge so youll be hitting many pirates most of the time.
- Training here can start anywhere from 1 rain and last till you go gobies at mid-late 8x.
-Though the pot cost is high (youre constantly running into them), money here is good as you can make 600k pure mesos in 1 hour (1k/minute). Additionally, if you get lucky, you can find 10% shoe jumps, 10% dagger ATK, blue and green scarabs and kandines.
Comments: If you start black squids early on without hp washing, you should have only a bit of hp to spare for a squids bump damage, meaning losing hp cause of water, standing in their 150/second mist or getting hit by their spitting mist could mean the difference between being able to take a hit and not being able to take a hit.
-A Zakum helmet will reduce the spitting damage to 1, making it easier for you to survive.
-It is recommended you bring two types of potions, a smaller healer to bring you back to full after taking small hits/water hp loss and a big healer (barbarian elixirs) for when you run into a squid. Black Squids guide:
Comments: If you went strafe first and want to train here, make sure you have PKB. If you went rain first, just rain away on the fast spawning ledges.
-Usually, these maps will be full enough that you will only get one ledge. That itself is enough for you to get good exp. These drop 60% glove attacks and tobis so making money will be easy if you find drops.

Previous training spots still Trainable at:
Spoiler
-Herb Town Pirates
-Twisted Jesters
--Black Squids
Comments: They hurt. Youll spend lots of money on pots, but finding drops here will make up for it as they drop ilbis, blue scarabs, blue screamers, 10% claw and have the highest meso drops in game.
-Some puppet is required for training here.
-Snipers with blizzard can train here at early 7x. Rangers should hold off till mid 8x where they have a good arsenal of attacking skills.
Comments: I personally love training here as it utilizes all skills archers have. I would say its best to come here with at least 20 strafe and 21 rain.
-Bone fish will be hard to handle at first so I would recommend letting them mob up in the ledge above bottom and cycling the rest of the map.
-Leech level is 85 but effective partying will probably be around 95 when you have a decent level of hawk.
Comments: Lower leveled archers now have no fear of being chased out, as there are now mini-dungeons
-Getting there is fairly dangerous so the best way is to ask for a door from a priest/bishop friend.
Jr. Newties do close to 2k damage while the big ones (that spawn on the ledges above, below and far right on the middle ledge) do roughly 2.7-2.8k and up to 3k. If you plan on just killing the two that dont transform in the middle platform, you can come here anytime you have 2k hp.
-If you plan on going here straight from black squids with a strafe first build, rain can be replaced by hawk as rain is never used sniping the middle platform.
Comments: Good hp/exp ratio
-Very rain friendly on the bottom top can be sniped from the right side with bomb
-No mini-dungeons, so constantly crowded
-Nearest town scrolls cannot be used here

The map is simply too big. I loved this place back when ludi was the most advanced training spot we had =X
Spirit Vikings
Spoiler
Even with the map revamp, it is too big to train on. Good for ilbi hunting and best option in Ludi, but thats about it
Leader D/A

Bad hp/exp ratio, and they jump, and the map is wide it was a stretch to begin with
Blue Kentaurus
Spoiler
No one went early inferno except Copious. Placed here as a remnant of his legacy.
Levels 90-100 (by now you should have both rain and strafe so the coloring will be for the most part taken out)
Comments: Big map with lots of spawn
-Has the ability to Super Knockback you off the map (back to the jump quest map)
-Stand on the spike (as seen in picture) to avoid the knockback
-changing channels/going into cash shop puts you at the top, which allows you to mob typhons at the top which never flew down

-Goby Party
-Jr. Newties
-Risell Squid Party
-Galloperas
Typhons
-Jr. Newties Party
Spoiler
Comments: 105 is the leeching level to get exp from BOTH Newties (100 for the small ones only). Youll still be doing middle until you have 3k hp and can do bottom, where you will kill Transforming Newties.
-Most parties either have 3 attackers (1 top, 1 mid, 1 bottom) or an ultimate spammer (top + mid) and you on the bottom.
Comments: Best to stay away from here till youre 4th job, though many low 4th jobbers dont have the hp for training at skeles. It is best to have 3.5k to be safe though you can test it out with hyper body when you have 3.4 to find the exact number (as weapon/magic defense varies from person to person). This is currently the best high leveled training place out at the moment. Partying here will usually involve having a bishop spamming ultimates on top while you cycle middle and bottom (or take one and have someone else taking a different ledge).
Comments: Best to have two people, one on each side
-Using hawk/eagle is important (note that they dont freeze, so frostprey is useless here)
-Bring all-cures, as they seal you
-Requires A LOT of hp to take their hits (4.3k hp if I remember correctly)

Anego hunting
Spoiler
There are two ways to do it:
1. Pinning it
2. Using the "sniping spot" (as seen. Basically, Anego doesnt come past those stools unless someone pushes it past from the other side.)
There are advantages and disadvantages of both methods:
Advantage of Pinning: Faster (as you will constantly be hitting anego)
Disadvantages of Pinning: Spawn can kill you if you're not careful and you have to be strong enough to be able to keep in the wall and have it not come running out at you.
Advantages of the sniping spot: No chance of death (as it doesnt come past a certain point. The screenshot is a bad example as Im in front of it, but any point behind the sofa is completely safe. Where I am right now is still in range of getting hit if Im unlucky).
Disadvantages of the sniping spot: As SoA is able to push it back, there will be times when you push it "out of range" and have to wait for it to come running back into range again before you can hit it.
